Just a thought regarding kahzmik's little game, but if it just exists and nobody pays attention to it, doesn't that mean he/she/it doesn't get any points and loses?

I am very amused by the idea that kahzmik is spam.

I'm also very close to blowing the lid off the whole thing. It really is rather annoying.

At the very least, that thread belongs in Word Games and Random Silliness.

And his game doesn't say anything about the thread being moved.

Unfortunately, old, tired "jokes" are not spam.

If it never gets locked, he doesn't get any points...

I wonder what point being king for life is if nobody knows.

I'm not sure if that qualifies...

While I'm here: is it possible to prevent newcomers from posting links for X number of posts? That could go a long way to :bunbun: spam.

Ya, it might not really qualify... it looks a lot like some of the stuff I get on my boards from time to time.

That's not spam, it's just a discussion. Spam would have included links to his get rich quick scheme and/or porn. Qcks has been here for a while and is a legit poster.

I don't do the technical stuff, that's rit's job. I did request some anti-spam mods but we will be updating the board software first and then see what comes with the upgrade and what we have to add on.

As you might note today, the spambots found a new way to get at us - via the "birthdays" list at the bottom of the forum. I've never been a fan of birthdays anyway, so I certainly wouldn't miss that section if it was gone.

Thanks for the tip... I'd never even noticed the Birthdays section!

I am well aware of it, I always try to check the odd names that show up there. I delete the new members with links or active spammers first, then I go through and get rid of the others that haven't done anything yet.
