Ok, all that clarified I guess I need to edit.

I don't suppose it's possible that Michael could find a working plasma or laser rifle with one of the dead Brothers?

So, I realise that SPECIAL is inexorably tied to Fallout, but I've also realised that SPECIAL doesn't translate well to forum games without a lot of paperwork. Therefore, I present you a choice: we can continue with SPECIAL with the understanding that all successes and failures will be somewhat arbitrary as I try to invent a system around SPECIAL, or everyone recreates their characters in SPIRIT so there can be a closer adherence to actual rules and rolls.

I don't mind. If it makes the game experience easier I'd be more than willing.

I think SPECIAL isn't that hard to translate (skill% - difficulty% = target) but is more complex than just using SPIRIT.

As long as the system we use spells a word with it's abbreviations, I'm good.

Since no one really voiced an opinion, we'll stick with SPECIAL. What I'm using is a roll of 1dLuck + appropriate attribute vs. a target number whose arbitrariness I'm still trying to clarify. I'm thinking probably a 6 or 7 for routine tasks, 10 for most combat applications, higher for trickier things. But those aren't set in stone. +2 for Tag.

Ah, that clarifies your previous warning to Stan that luck played into everything. It seems that would work, assuming skills, weapon modifiers, and all the related random bits play into it as usual. Homebrewing RPGs can get complex when it comes to relative target numbers, believe me. What would Tag be?

Your tag skills, if applicable to the action.

Simple enough, then. Hmm...

As it is now looks like it will work well, so long as you have wounds/hit points/whatever worked out before someone gets in trouble, and I've no doubt that you do. That's my two cents.

As far as I'm concerned, FB, you could make it all up arbitrarily and I'd still want to play.

I didn't mean...

...oh, screw this. I've already blown any new guy chips I was holding by insulting you previously. A shame, really, because this community was one that I rather liked the sound of.

I'm out. Sook takes a fatal blow from the Legionnare for wanting to be a hero. Player death, and I shall leave you alone from now on, Freakyboy. My apologies for my actions are necessary and given.

That's two-to-one, then...

Ross, Grillick is my brother. You may not have known that. He's also kind of a jerk, so don't take him personally. I don't. :)

I'm already over any slight you may or may not have committed. A month ago I was considering just killing off Sook, and if you really want out, I'll stand by that, but I wasn't even running games last month, and I certainly don't hold a grudge. Besides, I already have a nemesis.

Anyway, as far as wounds go, I haven't decided yet whether to just have a number of health points equal to endurance (or endurance-for-wounds, as traits dictate) or a Super You/Mutants and Masterminds-like system of Endurance "saves" against damage. I'm open to suggestions.

I know what it's like to attempt to organize things to appease the players and make an interesting game. I'm still in if you'll have me- and I'm sorry, for what it's worth.

I think there might be too many players in this game. Post if you're still in; anyone that doesn't post by Monday is out by default. After that, we'll see if I need to pare it down any more.

I'm still in, though there's only so much a non-combatant can do in a combat zone.
