Rocs squeezes his fists together so hard his Aile's fist groan and spark; the direct feedback system loops the pain into his own hands and he blinks.

"Hawkeye... my apologies." He looks up at his screen and notes the change in it's name, "...Barbas? Really? You like this name? Very well... Hawkeye of Barbas; que track 12. I need my head clear as in the operating room." Starting gently, then playing softly over his PA system a track of Shatti classical music begins to hum. It's a symphony of strings, woodwinds, brassy horns and some sort of vibrating soothing sound that almost feels like singing.

Rocs gently floats forward 4 spaces and focuses his sensors on the remaining unidentified heavy Corsair. His music flourishes and the dance begins.

Movement - 4 Spaces towards towards the enemy
Sensor - Identify Target: Heavy Corsair 2

((OOC: Got overtime this week, so earliest I'll be able to post next is next weekend.))

Sebastian launches his drones giving them the order to move forward. As they do, he activates his sensors, hanging back and identifying one of the two heavy corsairs.
Roll: 10 (Success!)

The scan works like a charm, and a readout of the Corsair's armaments comes up. It is equipped with a large railgun designed for long range targeting against ships, and a large tower shield to deflect energy and kinetic attacks.

Fred assists with the identification, scanning two of the light corsairs.
Rolls: 4+2 (Success!), 4+2 (Success!)

Data flows in to Fred's systems, and the light corsairs information is revealed. They are equipped with small armaments for close and near range combat, but of particular interest is a special computer outfitted with a means of transmitting detailed information in the head of both light corsairs.

Enrica's voice comes over the intercom as she gets this data.

>> Hmm, their tactics are evolving. Those Targeting Computers are the latest model from the Crystal Computing Corporation; they're designed to work in tandem to provide detailed scouting information and enable long range sniping. I wouldn't be surprised if all six light corsairs had this installed. The light corsairs may be a bigger threat than I had anticipated. Don't let them get a bead on the White Dwarf! <<

Jonas bolts ahead, Leraje vanishing from everyone's radar and communications.

Feng activates her long range sensors, looking to lock on and identify a large batch of targets.
Rolls: 12 + 1 + 2 (Success!), 4 + 1 + 2 (Success!), 10 + 1 + 2 (Success!), 8 + 1 + 2 (Success!), 7 + 1 + 2 (Success!), 8 + 1 + 2 (Success!) (All targets identified!)

The Light Corsair is similarly outfitted to the others, and the Medium Corsairs have a very similar load-out to Biggs and Wedge's mechs.

Jomo panics, flies up relative to the direction the enemies are coming from, and paints a bead on five targets.
Rolls: 5 + 1 (Success!), 9 + 1 (Success!), 7 + 1 (Success!), 8 + 1 (Success!), 10 + 1 (Success!)

His computer successfully locks on to all the targets as Enrica's voice comes through his intercom.

You want to use a mix of the pressure sensitive pedals at your feet and the multi-axis joysticks above you in order to move, aim and fire. Your control panel has some automated features and is set up to trigger certain equipment, but for the most part all you need 90% of the time are the pedals and joysticks. Take it easy; you've locked on to the enemies. Your Missile Artillery can use that lock on data to focus its fire. Move closer by pressing both pedals in to fly forward and squeeze the right hand trigger to fire. <<

Rocs calms himself down and presses forward, identifying the other heavy corsair.
Rolls: 9 (Success!)

Like its counterpart, this corsair is outfitted primarily to deal with large ships at a distance. However, its close range defenses are limited to a shoulder mounted laser cannon. His Aile can make it to one of the Heavy Corsairs in a single dash.

Biggs shouts over the comm.

>> Wedge, move on in! I'll cover you! <<
>> You got it, Biggs; let's help finish identifying the light corsairs! <<
Rolls: 6 + 1 (Success!), 2 + 1 (Failure...)

Biggs manages to get data on one of the light corsairs, revealing yet another familiar load-out, but fails to identify the other.

Wedge flies forward, scanning one of the last two light corsairs as he moves.
Rolls: 2 + 1 (failure...)

>> Those last two might be special! Be careful! <<

The Hunter Squad presses forward, each moving as fast as they can to close the gap between them and the White Dwarf. Chatter comes over the wide band radios.

Feng chuffs in annoyance when she sees the loadouts popping up on her screen.

<<Looks like the big guys have some serious firepower. All the little guys have missiles, too - I hate it when they want to play fair. Aim for the head or the launchers - ten Corsairs with those things will screw up our day like nothing else.>>

Haborym then demonstrates her frustrations by opening fire twice. The first time, a beam of super-heated energy slices across the shoulders of Light Corsair 3, its shock-resistant armor doing nothing to protect itself from the focused attack. The second, she fires a beam directly into its sensor suite, trying to get it as close to the actual cameras as possible.

Fred's mech leaps into action, the rockets firing at a G-force that would make a human pilot black out.

"Are."

He attempts to slam directly into Light Corsair 4, wrapping his suit's arms about the waist of the (currently) enemy vehicle.

"Mine."

The humans think they control Corsair battlesuits. This is nothing more than a comforting illusion. What really controls a Corsair is the onboard computer. Sure, some of the suit's controls are manual; but everything the pilot sees goes through the sensor suite's computers.

And taking over computers is exactly what Fred specialises in.

He listens to the suit's radio chatter, and tries to slip his own data into the stream. It's a bit like knocking on someone's door, claiming to be from Internal Revenue, and hoping they don't look too closely at the piece of paper you're waving in their face. If it works... well, there's all sorts of interesting things that can be done to a corsair pilot whose computer is taking commands from someone else...

Action 1: Dash: Close distance to Light Corsair 4
Action 2: Hack: Attempt to gain control of Corsair 4's onboard computer

"That is correct. We have an Aile. But how do you intend to keep me away from your precious Corsairs..."

There's a burst of energy and suddenly those who've yet to witness what an Aile can do understand why these foes for concerned...

"When I am already here?"

With a backwards burst of his jets, Rocs jams his energy rapier upwards at the 2nd Heavy Corsair's Railgun, attempting to disable or destroy it... Rocs just closed the distance between himself and the back line of enemies in one short burst.

Action 1 -> Dash to Heavy Corsair 2
Action 2 -> Melee strike to Railgun

Jonas watches as best he can through the viewscreen as the opponents drift closer. He can't scan them yet, so he waits until they get as close as he can, and then he drops the cloak.

"Ok, got about 5 seconds assuming the normal setup, the alarms for new bogey might startle them. Lets check the shared logs."

Jonas looks it over fast, and decides on a target.

The Corsair lifts its right arm, takes careful aim at the sensor bundle in the head of a nearby light enemy, and fires with its Coilgun, shooting an energetic projectile into its primary detection equipment.

Action 1: Drop Jam

Sebastion stares in annoyance at his slowly moving drones before bursting into a blistering typhoon of profanity. "Gorramit! The engines STILL aren't cycling fast enough for adequate propulsion!" After a moment, the reverberations subside. "Okay, lets hope the weapons are working at least."

While Sebastion moves forward to activate his Target Painter, he configures several commands into the relatively simple operational parameters he installed into the Drone A.I. Defensive mode - Protect the White Dwarf. Auto Target and engage hostile Corsairs that move within range of weapons.

Drones
[1] Defend the White Dwarf - Auto Target and attack first hostile Corsair that moves within range. If several enter within range at once, priority goes to Light Corsair 2 should it be among the group.

Jomo cuts the communications link for a moment, and focuses on the instructions given to him. "Okay, press both pedals in to fly forward, and squeeze this trigger to fire." He says, making a point to keep said trigger as far away from his fingers as possible for this moment. "Pedals first." Jomo goes through the motions of pressing his feet forward against a set of pedals he can't feel against his feet. He pushes with what he presumes is a moderate amount of his strength, which, unfortunately for Jomo, is still greater than needed. The corsair jolts for a moment, and then bursts forward, Jomo's teeth grinding as he watches the instruments flare up with a bunch numbers that seem, in Jomo's mind at least, awfully high, before almost instantaneously removing his feet, letting the Corsair drift for a moment. Thankfully, this movement was, in fact, forward, landing him closer to the enemy fleet.

Movement - Horizontal 3 Spaces

"Okay, now..." a smile crosses his face as he places his hand on the trigger mentioned by First Mate Enrica. "No. Not yet." He says, removing his hand. He pauses for a moment, then his hand grips tightly around the trigger.

"WHO AM I KIDDING, I CAN'T POSSIBLY WAIT FOR THIS!" He says, laughing as the silos open, and the missiles launch from the artillery.

Action - Missile launch at previously targeted foes (Fire Ze Missiles!)

Feng takes the initiative, opening fire on the armaments of one of the light corsairs.

Two lasers lance towards the corsair, one dealing a direct hit to the missile array and the other glancing off the corsair's head, leaving a scorch mark.

Fred decides to take a more indirect approach for dealing with his opponents and moves to hack another of the Light Corsairs.

Forneus v LT4 <Hack Attempt>: 12, Critical Threat!!, 12, CRITICAL SUCCESS!!! - Absolute Control

The corsair gets exactly one message out - >>HELP! MY CORSAIR'S COMPUTER IS BEING HACKED!<< before Fred finds he has complete and total control of the mech. The pilot is sitting inside, unable to move his ship under his own power anymore, panicked and confused. "What's going on?! Guys?! GUYS?!"

With a burst of speed unmatchable by human technology, Rocs' Aile bolts across the battlefield, placing himself firmly within enemy lines as he attempts to cleave the massive railgun away from one of the heavy corsairs.

Cutting through the right arm of the corsair like a hot knife through butter, the arm begins to shake, its ability to aim the heavy weapon diminished.

Dropping his jamming for a surprise attack, Jonas goes for the head of one of the light corsairs.

The energy causes a small explosion, and the head of the corsair looks to be in a bad state.

Sebastian decides to move forward to start using his target painter to help his onboard computers send targeting calculations to everyone...

And has great success, the data on the light corsair flowing through the Burning Star communications network.

Enrica sends a communication to Sebastian.

Jomo moves forward, getting his space legs, and then opens fire on his targeted corsairs with a barrage of heavy missiles.

Two of the missiles find their mark, exploding right in the face of one of the Medium corsairs and the Light corsair. Two other medium corsairs are scorched by proximity to the exploding missiles, and one medium manages to get out of the way.

Biggs attempts to scan the last two corsairs again...

Panicking from the sudden aggression, the Hunter Squad begins attacking.

The heavy corsairs, their only close range defenses being a small precision laser system, begin trying to fire are the speedy Aile.

However, Barbas is too nimble, and Rocs deflects the shots with his twin blades.

The Gauss Rifle of one of the Corsairs malfunctions, causing it to shut down and leaving the corsair helpless. The other medium corsair, however, finds his mark, and Fred's computer system is damaged. The Light Corsair's attack on the hacking gear only leaves a small dent in Forneus' shoulders.

Two light corsairs panic as a mecha they did NOT get the chance to scan suddenly gets the drop on them. They begin swinging their melee weapons wildly...

LT1 v Leraje: 6 - 2 - 2 = 2 Failure...

And completely miss, unable to do any damage to the nimble light corsair.

Worried about the missiles coming from the strange behaving mecha, the last two light corsairs try to attack Jomo's arms.

One shot misses completely, while the other causes much of the metal on Vinea's arm to shatter away.

Taking Enrica's advice, Sebastion pulls up his targeting computer and orders it to target LT3, LT5, and LT6. Once that is done, Sebastion activates his Target Painter a second time and attempts to calculate Firing Solutions for all three of them.

While Sabnock performs the necessary calculations, Sebastion orders his Drones to move forward into firing range of the first wave of Corsairs.

Light Cruiser 4 plays a bit of calming elevator music, as if to reassure its terrified pilot. The screens, on the other hand, go dead.

After a few seconds, a voice plays over the music. "Good news, Insert Name Here! Your hardware is now under my control, which means that you have a significantly higher chance of surviving this altercation. The people on my side won't shoot you, and indications are that the people on your side will be reluctant to, as well. So just sit back and relax, and you should get through this just fine."

The voice pauses for a few moments, before adding "By the way, Insert Name Here, if you're ever piloting a cruiser again, it'd be a really really good idea not to leave the admin password set to default. Don't worry, I've changed it already. If I notice you trying to regain control of your corsair, incidentally, I'll open the airlock and dump you outside, so I'd recommend not trying anything. Please be aware that there might be some abrupt vector changes in the near future; ensure that your seatbelt is fastened and your backups are up-to-date."

"In the meantime, to help you relax, I have a selection of films on hand that you might appreciate. Allow me to begin with an old comedy show about a time traveller."

The screen turns on again, as the corsair begins to play Dr. Who for its terrified occupant.

"Number Four is mine." transmits Fred to his allies. The short message should tell them all they need to know; he quickly gets the suborned corsair to send him the contents of its own hard drive for later perusal, and sends it a veritable flood of data on an encrypted link; enough to suggest that he's sending some very complex software to the other machine. (Though most of the data being sent out is, in actuality, Dr. Who).

There are, however, a few instructions being sent to Light Corsair 4, in amongst the streamed video.

MD1 has damaged my hardware. Your target is therefore MD1. Fire light missile array. Fire coilgun.

While the light cruiser releases a hail of death at its former ally, Fred simply moves along the row, grabbing hold of LT3 and attempting to repeat his former success.You never know, perhaps this pilot also never changed his admin password...

"Three is next." broadcasts Fred - in case anyone was planning on trying to damage it before he could finish taking it over.

LT4:
Action 1: Fire light missile array at MD1.
Action 2: Fire coilgun at MD1

Forneus:
Action 1: Move to LT3
Action 2: Hack: Attempt to gain control of LT3

Feng grins and tightens her trigger finger, ready to take another shot into the dented head of Unit 4, before the shape of Forneus slides past it into her viewscreen. Inside, her face twists into a grimace, and she shakes an arm at the kill-stealing interloper. <<Oi, that one was mine!>> she yells, then mutters <<...almost shot your bloody head off, you pile of chips...>> into the comm. However, once she gets a firing solution against the second Light Corsair, her snarl turns into a grin, and she lines up a shot directly into its power core. The laser pulses for a second, then she corrects the shot and fires a second pulse.

Action 1: Attack <Laser Rifle> - Light Corsair 2 <Body>

Jonas considers the damage he did to the mech in front of him. "Hmmm. That looked like an energy shield. So this" He looks at his mech's Energy Pistol. "wont do much damage. But on the other hand...heat softens metal, so whatever gets through....."

Taking close aim, Jonas aims both his guns at the Light Corsair in front of him. He aims for the center of mass, in an attempt to destroy its control systems or damage the cockpit. He fires the Energy pistol first, and as soon as it impacts, fires another projectile from the coilgun. This in hopes that the increased heat will weaken the cohesion of the metal plating so that the projectile can shoot through and do maximum damage.

Jomo barely notices the shaking and rattling of his Corsair as one of the arms shatters. Instead he turns his attention to the two that had fired on him in the first place. "Oh, that's how it's gonna be huh? I launch a few paltry missiles and suddenly, I'm the bad guy who needs to be shot at. I'm new at this!" Jomo takes a moment to adjust his current trajectory, then smiles. "Fine, you don't want me using missiles. I'll play by that game. Maybe." He presses a few familiar switches, setting the system to lock on to whatever potential targets there are for the Corsair to hit.

Action - Sensor - Scanning - Lock onto any enemy targets within range

Then he punches the controls forward, and rockets the Corsair towards the one labelled on the targeting system as LT5, good arm outstretched.

And angled to smash into the head of that smaller Corsair.

Movement - 3 Spaces (Directly into LT5)

"I believe I may have angered them." Rocs spins towards the far side of the field, directly between the two heavy corsairs with his blades at the ready, "You had all better shoot me down... as you know once a Shatti obtains his rhythm, they are unstoppable."

Hoping his taunt works, he readies to deflect all shots aimed at him back at the heavy corsairs... hopefully causing some of the mediums to shoot them as well as he passes between.

Barbas:
Action 1: Move between the Heavy Corsairs 3 spaces
Action 2: Ready bullet deflections to cause the group to damage one and another
