you guys should just do like a $5 (or something fairly reasonable) buy in or something and send people a link to the play-test and them give them a coupon for $5 off of the finished product if & when they send you usefull feed back. and make the stpulation that they have to play so many times and provide feedback from each game. then when your ready ta crank 'em out have a pre-order drive, if x amount of people put $x down by x date then they will be ready for purchase by such and such date.

I was fortunate enough to attend the Saturday playtest at Dragon*Con. I was very pleased as I could not imagine a good balance between the Sluggy weirdness and a playable game. I was wrong. The game is fun and has enough weirdness to truly be of Sluggy parentage. I can't wait to get a copy and play a full campaign.

As far as the session itself, I thought everyone did a great job of playing. The GM/Author was excellent. He took elements we made up and seamlessly integrated them into an off-the-cuff mini-session. We had it mostly tied-up by the end of our time and suddenly there was one less menacing giant plush monster in the world.

Thanks again, and I can't wait to see my name in the book. Also, thanks, Pete, for stopping by.

HATE!!!!!!

Want to play this so badly! This MUST come out soon. You hear that?

SOON!

I now return you to the less-crazed commentary.

Who's going to run the Sluggy playtest at Dragon Con 08?

Same freaky long-haired guy in the funny hat that always runs it, of course. :)

Everyone, meet Pochi. Pochi, everyone.

I actually used a resource on Pochi's website to work out some questions about firearm damage. Thanks, man. That was damn useful.

Since we have had the same rough group for two years, I am looking for the other two Sluggites (Is it on T or two?) who played with us last year in the wee hours of Monday Morning? (Not the stoned guy who wandered in).

I'm glad my site was of service. I'll put up a Sluggy RPG page once I get a copy of the game..... ^_^

Hahaha, that stoned guy! "My character is a kangaroo with boxing gloves! Boxing gloves of STEEL!"

Anyway, Pochi, I just asked Kahn in a PM if he knew how David and I could hook up with the group we've played with for two years. I was willing to bribe and everything.

So yeah! PM me and let me know what session you guys signed up for, so we can coordinate again this year!

So, how is the game coming along? Is there a release date yet?

I've pretty much given up all hope of this ever seeing light beyond conventions.

But you shouldn't. Because Pete and I have agreed, it is going to happen *THIS* summer. There was talk about doing an official release thing at Dragon*Con, but I am of the opinion that officiality is for officials and their orifices, so with any luck, we'll have it available in the Sluggy store a fair bit before then.

Let me make this clear: The text of the book is now complete. I'm convinced that it's as complete as it's getting. The system has been thoroughly playtested, and as best I can tell, we've covered every element we could possibly cover--and amazingly enough, they all work. All I'm waiting for is for Pete to have time to send me some hi-res art from the strip, and make a little extra, and then it's a matter of finding someone crazy enough to print this sucker for us.

And make no mistake... There will be printing...

Muahahahahaha...

Yeah, I just noticed yet another piece of art I can use for the book in yesterday's comic. I'm in a good mood. :torg:

Last I checked we're still on track for this summer. I want to give the book one more pass myself, but I think it's as perfected as it can get.

Color me cautiously enthused.

Hi!

I'm a part time RPG designer and publisher (WardCo.). I'd love to see this thing hit the shelves - there's very few light-hearted RPGs out nowadays, and Sluggy has the depth to really carry this off :) Pete has created a consistent world with ongoing long-term plots and a bucketload of humor, while ripping off the best and worst shows ever to screen on TV.

I can't wait to see this on the shelves either :)
