Well, remember that Gwynn is pretty tough, having fought a demon and all, and she did once beat up Riff after discovering he told Zoe about their date.
Though she ambushed Riff on that one.

The plot thickens... or something like that.

Noo, I like that house. That house is nice. No SellyHouseHouse.

I almost want to say that this strip represents what I consider the typical Sluggy-plot device, but it sure didn't completely throw me off guard.

Love Torg's reactions to the cloning of the toothbrush, brilliant!

It's an old comedy schtick. A 'good guy' girl can always beat up a 'good guy' guy when startled or enraged.

Mainly because the 'good guy' guy doesn't fight back. Good to see that Torg wasn't so affected by the drug that he was outside the norms of 'good guy.' I was kind of worried that he might actually hurt Gwynn.

Besides, Gwynn already bounced a bat off Torg's head once that evening. He was probably still woozy from the first hit. I'm surprised he was still conscious after it.

Nice strip. The toothbrush gag was classic.

I'm kind of excited about the impending move... mostly because I've been anticipating it since Kesandru's Well, when I was sure they'd have to abandon the house.

The toothbrush gag was cute, but completely unneccessary. Gwynn works fast food and could have spent a fortune trying to divest herself of the Book. Riff had a business that was going belly up a year ago (and why aren't you back in Alaska, it should be Vamp hunting paradise in the noon-day moonlight?), and he and Torg haven't had meaningful employ since their lemonade stand fiasco. Aylee ate like a monstrosity for months before caccooning herself. They've had a year where only Zoe has had meaningful employ, why do we need a cheap gimmick to start a "the gang needs money, or they could lose the house" storyline? Besides, although having a dead landlord means no one comes to get the rent every month, it also means that you don't have the houses deed, so how are they going to sell it?

I think that ramble made sense to people at least as crazy as I am.

SO SO SO many plots that could surface based on this strip... but I shouldn't try to sneak into trying to bring in spec...

I'm surprised they don't mortgage the house instead. A nice place like that (even damaged) could easily net $200,000, and they just have to pay off the mortgage instead. Sort of like paying rent again, but with more room.

I understand the comedic value of the cloned toothbrush... but I could easily see Riff refusing to pay and getting away with it, because they probably bought a toothbrush and ruffled up the top so it looked like Torg's old toothbrush when they couldn't get genetic material off of it.

As for Gwynn... well, Torg probably was on a rant and after telling off Gwynn, turned to Zoe and started saying something to her. While his back was to Gwynn, she coldcocked him. Torg has been taken down from behind even in the DoL.

After considering the comic, and how it did make me laugh and was also a good conclusion for what had happened... I rate Sunday's strip at Four Kittens with milk. No mittens because, well, there are a few holes in the story, and it would have been cute to see flashbacks of what happened there (but then again, as flashbacks were used during the clone sequence, it might have overdone it)... and selling the house is just plain silly, and not in a good way. Oh well.

Delaying such a potentially plot-thick couldn't be delayed for the "this family reads Sluggy only in the morning" thing. So I'll rate alone.

Defender of the nifty...................25$ (I wish)

Evil T-shirt...................................18$ (DOH I'll have to settle for less)

Good T-Shirt...............................16$ (so good is worth less than evil? Nice values!)

Zoe in bikini print.........................12$ (poing! But still a few dollars short)

Shirt-guy Tom print......................6$ (Nah. Not that desperate)

Fine print in cloning contract........200 000$ (I rate fine print "A kiki behind the couch!")

Panel 8 expression of Torg about to repeat the "I'm sorry" line for Zoe getting back with Leo, but held back, finally shown the "Am I about to get lucky" smile in panel 9, that smile being crushed by the cloning plot device immediately after............Priceless

There are things words can't rate. For the rest, there is the reaction forum!

P.S.: totally worth the wait - so many plots, so little time!

P.P.S.: Well if Riff goes bankrupt the others can still pay for regular things, right? It's not like he single-handedly owns the house. Some kind of plot device developpement might help.

Very funny strips, lots of revelations, great art, but the "cloning-toothbrush-too-expensive-so-we-have-to-sell-the-house"-thing totally sucks. As others have pointed out, this sounds like a really lame excuse to get a "The folks need money"-Storyline going. I'm sure with the gang living for free in the house they would find other ways to get the money (mortgage beeing the most realistic option), or ways to not pay the debt at all.

Oh dear. This is not good. Not good at all.

Well, I mean, it's good in that there is the possibility of all kinds of stories based on financial problems, but selling the house? Noooo!

I'm was a little let down at the end of the strip when there wasn't a Torg clone. That would've made an interesting story-arc I think.

One minor point should be made: Their landlord is in hell, so they get away with living their rent free. That does not mean they have the title to the house. Without the title, no sale. Riff needs another plan.
