I think Riff has commitment problems.
And Girlfriend of the hour IS a genius. That was brilliant tricking Riff like that even if it made him run for the hills.

That was funny. However, the shrugs weren't very visible in the panels 2-5 (or maybe I'm just looking at it at the wrong angle on my laptop), so I had to read it a second time before the joke made sense.

Heh, that says "Inally", right? It's not just my mind playing tricks on me?
Shrugs rock.

To heck with the missing "F", Pete - her "Eeeeeeeeee!" needed to be made with open hands, fingers waving! Presentation is everything!
Mr. "Nifty strip nonetheless, and Monica shows hints of more depth..." Jest

Well, if it makes any difference, she said it was a fake "EEEEE"
Though I do happen to agree with you.
I enjoyed this strip quite heartily, even with the typo.

I saw the shrugs, and I still don't get it. What's going on?

Riff was tricked into making a commitment to a relationship, so he did the only thing he could do - run away. Literally. Fast, too.

Riff's Jesse Custer mentality has been countered with Monica's Tuilp O'Hare like intellect.
It didn't make sense, but who cares. :P

You see, everyone who doubted Monica? She's great. I also disagree about the 'Eee!' - that's how many a girl performs this important gesture.
