There's something wrong about the way Riff is smiling to Gwynn. I didn't notice it the first time. But Riff never smiles like that. Specially not to Gwynn.

Yah know, I hate to say it... but, it's true:

Pete, your "filler strip" made me laugh much more than the original.

Now, I know it's a bit of work to balance dramatic plotline with humor, but when you just forget the plot and simply be silly, you are a funny, funny guy.

That being said, we all love the plot... so, take care of business, family, do your taxes, what have you. But (since you promised), we WILL be expecting some sort of Stupendous Plotline Exposition in a few days!

Mr. "however, I'm still giggling over this strip" Jest

Haven't laughed that much on sluggy for quite a while. I have to wholeheartedly agree with Mr.Jest: Without the plot and lots of silliness, this comic reaches unforeseen heights.

No plot at all would be bad, but some days or even weeks of plain oldfashioned, nifty silly are more than acceptable...

Ah, this is why I'm always pulling for more oldschool silly-Sluggy strips. Awesome. You can stop and do one of these any day of the week, as far as I'm concerned.

The only thing missing was Kiki with a naively-cute comment at the end. But I guess she's busy playing with No-Content :kiki:

That filler-strip wasn't lame, not lame at all.
I liked it. :kiki:

Agreed - and given that it's probably less work (art-wise) than the current "No-Content-yet-I'll-keep-the-sluggites-from-ripping-my-throat-out-by-doing-Kiki-Cartoons-on-Saturdays" strips, I think Pete should give free reign to his comedy imagination and do this. It would be nifty fun!
