Love the art on Zoe in the first panel. She looks unspeakably sweet. She probably delayed Riff's dad by a good twenty or thirty secs just with that look alone.

Isn't this supposed to be where the evil villain explains his plan instead of just shooting the protagonist? That gives Torg and company time for the cavalry to arrive.

Yeah. Since I suspect the only innocent blood in the room is Torg's and Zoë's.

But if Chaz did get some innocent blood, Skip could have a well-deserved bad day.

Will's kidding himself if he thinks he can "make it up" to Riff after he kills Riff's two best friends. Riff would likely start gunning for HIM.

He essentially said he doesn't think he can.


I wondered why Torg would think of the man who wants to kill him as the best best-friend's-dad ever, but then I realized that since Riff has been Torg's best friend since their early childhood, Will is the only best-friend's-dad Torg has ever had. It's easy to be best when there's no competition.

If you compare to the comic SiliconWolf linked, you can guess there might be more, but I think that discussion belongs in spec. Meanwhile, I will just say I am really confused by Torg's last line, and am anxious to get back to the good guys getting some hits in.

Also, it makes Will's prior statement seem quite true.

It occurs to me that Will's friend has a rather telling name, considering what we now know to be their objective.

I'm saying he's so far from being able to "make it up" that he has no idea what a bucket of hurt he may open up. I suspect Riff's loyalty to Torg and Zoë may be much stronger than to his own long-missing and apparently demonically-swayed father.
