Thursday wonders if you can smell that burning. It's like the entire world is ablaze...

It's not sure, but it could be that the plot has decide to self immolate from all the threads that keep rubbing together.

"I love the smell of burning pixels in the evening."

I'm really curious about the 'why' of it.

It is great to have more information like this, but we still don't know why Riff's dad wants to end the world. But now we know Riff has Symachus' DNA ... and we know Symachus was looking for a way to put himself in a better position after the next apocalypse.

Torg's reference to poor geography skills sounds a bit like someone has read the news on how many Americans know where Ukraine is, after months of reporting. (16%)

Pulling the strings eh. Interesting.

So I guess Riff's dad doesn't have the soul fragment anymore since he passed it on. Explains the glasses.

Torg is starting to remind me of Mrs. Broflovski.

I'm certain it was explained very persuasively in that scroll. :kzk:

The only revelation missing now is that Torg is the descendant of The Krig...
(note that this is not spec, it's sarcasm)

Um, where did this come up recently? Did I miss something? I remember the discussion about "sluggy", but "freelance"? Who mentioned that?

The end of the last strip was Torg requesting information. This strip began with him recapping what he'd just heard.

I feel a great disturbance in the 4th wall...
And not the silly kind from early days (every webcomic's got that), this one is ominous!

There was a comic (don't have the link handy now, but I'm guessing you all remember it) when Riff told Torg that he was code-named "H-C Freelancer Sluggy" during his days as a Hereti-Corp techie, and Torg told Riff that his middle name was Sluggy. And they know that Bun-Bun resembles Lord Sluggy from Mohkadun.

So if Torg had said "And we're all called Sluggy?" then I would understand.

But yeah, Torg's full statement of "And we're all called Sluggy Freelance?" confuses me too. As far as they/we know, only Riff was once called Sluggy [the H-C] Freelance[r].

I don't believe that he does. He mentioned something about bringing K'Z'K back in a weakened state. He believes (wrongly, since he's following K'Z'K's own directions) that he can control the return of K'Z'K. Just like his ancestor wrongly believed that he could control it as well. However, that begs the question as to why he's siding with Skippy... ...or vice-versa. 'The enemy of my enemy...' just doesn't quite work here - even if they are both working against Chilus. Nor does it explain why Will thought that he needed the Stormbreaker dead, and why Chilus thinks she's worth something alive - for a little while.
