Yes, she did. And Gwynn back to the present...possessed by k'z'k.

if siphy's home, why is she home outside?

edit: nope! strike that, trees are in the background in earlier mohkadun "queen and maloufo" scenes.

Silly Siphy. Doesn't she know the correct incantation is "There's no place like home... there's no place like home..."

Ok, I'm logged in.
1. Shupid/Kwi in quotes because this is the first time Wilcott has done this spell, and he's quoting from his notes.
2. Activating the necklace under the release spell linked it to Malfuso activating the necklace in the past, making the swap.
3. Necklace fell off because it is finished being misused- it will be placed in the pyramid where Torg will find it in A Sluggy Mummy Christmas.

Just about everything in this thread is winning.

So now it's REALLY hit the fan... and all because stupid drunk Gwynn refused to listen to Aylee and put on the necklace anyway.

Riff should be somewhat shaken to know that Aylee -- had she succeeded -- would have saved the whole freaking world.

Oh yeah, and today's comic really needs a ref to:

Same background of palm trees behind columns.

Oh, I also want to know why Gwyphi's attire wasn't completely shredded by the transformation. Looks like part of it ripped, but that's not nearly the usual destruction.

There's some handy graphics back in the early Zoe-camel days showing how sheath dresses roll up around the camel's neck (don't ask how the arms/sleeves work).

Probably Zoe's LBD was a lot stretcher than Gwyniana's shift, though...

But why did Siphy finish her sentence in a different language than the one she started in? Not sure Pete really thought that one through.

Because Siphy realized she was back and deliberately said the word "home" in her own language. She started out making a declaration, but the last word not only changed languages, but also became a question. She was asking (herself, or maybe the universe) if she was home. Really, they're two different thoughts.

Torg's expression is pretty much the same one I had upon sight of the K'Z'Kamel.

I actually think it's the other way 'round. When we've been in Mohkadun, the characters' speech balloons have contained English words. But that's just for our benefit; surely the characters have actually been speaking Mohkadunese to each other! (Compare when Gwynn's soul first entered Siphy's body: she actually spoke English, but that's a foreign language in Mohkadun, so her speech balloon contained gibberish.)*

Siphy's last word, "home," was spoken in actual English, since she was in the middle of speaking an English sentence when she teleported. But in Mohkadun, her speech bubble can't just say "home," because that would mean it was spoken in Mohkadunese. So Pete wrote "<home>." (He could have written more gibberish, but then the poignancy would have been lost.)

*ETA: Well, except for this chapter in Mohkadun, where Gwynn's English was written as English, and everyone else's Mohkadunese was written as gibberish. But that was because it was from Gwynn's point of view. In every other Mohkadun chapter, written English = spoken Mohkadunese.

That is also quite possible. Either way you take it, I don't think Pete made a mistake.
