To me, Chaz's first "speech" bubble looks like one of Brehda's eyes being hit by lightning. (She had a little paint mark underneath the middle of each eye). Spec spec spec.

Shiney. I interpret Khronus's sentence to mean that Chaz operates outside the fate web - when charged. So the hand that wields it is outside the web only for that time that Chaz is charged, and only if the sword is used during that period. Otherwise they are a normal human, with a normal connection to the web.

The lightning bolts are also different than the ones from the K'Z'K cult symbol.
