Khronus is an idiot. Nice way to guarantee that innocents will hate you for thousands of years. More enemies are never better.

The crucial question now is: How did Symachus manage to get laid and have descendants with that look? I guess he could already have had some kids before this happened...

Huh. My long-ago crazyish spec that Riff's eye problem means he's an angel isn't too far off (I guess I could have mentioned this back when we learned that he was related to Symachus, but now we have the link to the eyes specifically).

If Khronus had any clue that Symachus was partially responsible for destroying the last spark, AND coached Farahn to free Kozuaku again this time, AND egged him on to kill Kron, AND provided the sword that killed Kron and Brehda, AND was plotting to kill Khronus himself... Khronus might have been challenged to devise a punishment heinous enough for him. But this'll do.

The nanites weren't able to duplicate the necklace's magic, why would they be able to 'read' a curse? I wonder if all Krohnus did was give him a genetic condition? That could explain why Riff has at least some ability to see.

That could explain why Riff has at least some ability to see. If I remember correctly, the nanites would repair damage done to the person. A genetic condition that a person has might be considered incorrect from standard, but to the nanites would it be considered "damage" since it's in the genetic code of that person? We could bring up the nanite "snapshots" of the people to explain things.
