And so it all comes together. Maybe not all the way back to 1997, but 2002, twelve years, is a long time to make a story like this work. Good job, Pete.

The mummy!
She has the diamond on her wall: the pyramid of men above and the pyramid of the gods below. She is a real people pleaser. What with her outfits earlier, and now creating new life like a gardener, and making sure people's hearts get a good workout and have a strong beat in the future as Basphomy.
And Asahn lives! Dunuloa is all heart!

I didn't expect an epilogue, but neat.
Creeped out a lot by all the "goodness" in the Dunuloa panel, too.
Silverwalker: Check out her drawings...

And so it all falls apart. Madness and grief mixing and multiplying. I know the survivers will be mostly alright, but still. The decline and fall of civilization has never realy appealed to me. I've always liked the part that came after much more, rebuilding.
In unrelated news: I can't believe that's who killed Sheriff Deer. Wow.

Oh my them - hiding in some barren wasteland far away, spying on humans...the Krig has barely left his old job and he's already starting to act like Santa

Poor Dunuloa. What was once boundless (if still rather insane) love for the pursuit of mad-sciencey magic has been twisted into an obsessive drive for fear and revenge. I'd feel sorry for her if she didn't turn into such a nasty piece of work further down the line.
In any case, oh man. So many questions! The sign of awesome worldbuilding is that it leaves you wishing you could learn that much more. Pete, you rock.

Still many unanswered questions, but I like where this is headed.
And still in the past for this new chapter, didn't expect that. Glad to get more backstory in the post-destroyer world though.

Dunuloa's creepy lab is creepy.
I'm glad that Asahn made it. That dude's all right.
