Strom/Nash probably thinks he's being heroic. The last he knew, the woman herself said that killing her would prevent the end of the world.

Dang. At first I thought he had just shot her glasses off. I'm still not sure it was a fatal shot. Rreed423 wrote: Strom/Nash probably thinks he's being heroic. Perhaps, but he probably had a clue that the whole "end" part already happened. ryoko11 wrote: I hope Gnaaw eats Nash after this. It would solve some problems -- but then again, Gollum. At least Torg managed to not impale himself or anyone else on Chaz...
I'm hoping for a grazing / stunning shot. Otherwise there would have been a much messier result.
And yes, what happens when you drop a basket of magic eggs from a great height...

Makes sense. She was looking a bit too powerful to live. When the answer to most any problem is "Have Gwynn swat it," that character is on a fast track to depowering or death. I was expecting a reveal that the magic was more limited in amount than one might think, but this works too.
Killing her now also adds an extra layer of tragedy because of the loss of implied potential, of the good she might have been able to do for the Sluggy gang with her magic. And throws some interesting roadblocks in the way of the team working with Strom, if he thought he was doing the right thing by taking the shot here.
Rest in peace, Gwynn.

You know, I could be wrong, but for the huge role he's played in events over the last nearly-a-decade I don't think any of the main cast has ever actually MET Nash. I wonder what will go down when they do have their first face to face encounter...

I'm disappointed with all of you. We're almost on page four and nobody has done a Schrodinger pun. Shame on you. Shame.
Ignoring the "is she or isn't she", the real question is: why's the consensus, Strom shot her? Yes she was shot or something like that. She and everybody else falls and lands hard in the sand, then... We have one panel of Strom just sitting/standing with a rifle. That's it.
It may mean what people think, or it may not.

It occurs to me that Gwynn is the primary one in the bunch who mightn't know of how Qaboos died; that said, I think Torg and Riff both should have kept it more in mind.
