"When I was young she took my eyes!" Wasn't it krohnus who took symachus, and all his descendant's eyes? Ken-Ohki wrote: Caught most of the references to myth but can't think of who Asahn the Stone Arm refers to. http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20131216

So Wynonti is the grandaughter of Maloufu and Wyntiti, and Macha is the son of Symachus and one of the noble daughters (mentioned here). I assume that Macha was either misinformed about the cause of his blindness or is embellishing the story for dramatic effect.

It occurs to me that Scoobusdubios Du is really freaking old if he's "that old corpse" at the height of Mokhadun.

How did "Dunuloa" turn into "Lunoa" ? He seems much nicer/kinder than his father, though. Telling stories to kids and joking with the elders.

OR- embellishing his story to maintain his place as childhood educator- for when the moon has a dark side, during a solar eclipse, curious children end up blind....

Come on now. With all the talk about the Sun and Moon twins, I'm surprised nobody mentioned Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon.
Now where did I put that CD?

It appears to be how he makes his way as a blind guy. (Echoes of Homer?) And kids love scary stories, so that kind of embellishment makes sense. This is nearly two generations after the fall of Mokhadun, and he wasn't there, so its hardly surprising that the events are already becoming mythologised.

More importantly, the kid wasn't there, so it doesn't really matter what he does or doesn't know; he can put whatever spin on it he wants to best entertain her and/or himself.

Yes and the blending of elements - "The rabbit god and the magic eggs..." etc. It's looking like they've perhaps sunk back to a more or less non-literate society. Maybe the younger scholar and most of the educated types were among the casualties. Of course they've probably had more important things to do for a while than scribble scrolls and chisel hieroglyphs. Not that a blind dude would have much use for a scroll.
