Friday going to light up the night! Wear your shades if you got them... Original uncolored 2014-09-08 stripList of previously colored strips (16) I have to say that I wish Pete wouldn't of blurred the lines in most of the panels. It's an absolute pain to color or to remove, also I can't necessarily tell what was drawn...though that was mostly Gwynn in panel 7. Almost thought about "removing" the blur on everything, coloring, then re-blurring everything. Of course that actually means redrawing everything... Only did that on panel 4...oh and little on 2. As for panel 4, I have to say that I really like how it came out. Yes, I'm very biased and proud of it. ----- Vote for Sluggy Freelance at Top Web Comics. Remember to vote EACH day. [#93 -1 *68]

Of course Torg would know how wards work after the ghosts in the gastank fiasco. This leads to a number of interesting possibilities.

Doors and windows were warded many hours before Marco came across Torg and Gwynn... So how would Torg been able to smudge the paint? No way it should of been still wet.
I know, I know, I shouldn't question the nonsensical things that occur to make "plot" happen.
And now for something else that is nonsensical:
The next strip I colored is now up on the first post. Check it out if you can stand the heat...

Who says they used paint? Could have been something that doesn't completely dry...
Or it's a small plot hole, whatever.
Outside, interesting... and odd.

This is why video games were invented. If God wanted us to go outside he wouldn't have made Bullet Witch so awesome.
This is like a shorter version of Kittens.
I really love Kaspar here. He goes outside to yell "Come At Me Bro" and then rages. Very effectively told without words.

I expected a better cliffhanger than this. ARRRGH! It makes me SO ANGRY!!! *beat* Good thing I'm inside. :D (also, I'm not really angry)Zillatain wrote: Doors and windows were warded many hours before Marco came across Torg and Gwynn... Dirt on the windowsill, smudged OVER the paint, would likely have much the same effect of marring the symbols enough to ruin the wards.

Who knows what kind of paint you have to use for magic Teutonic wards? Oil-based paints can take 3-5 days (or longer) to dry.

I concede.
Maybe it was from a tube of some oil-based artist paint. That stuff does take a long time to dry, especially it was put on thick.
Still going to say The Order is incompetent though. Using slow drying paint is one of reasons. They should of had the portable "Glyph Edition" label maker instead of paint.

Well, it now appears they were just a group of flunkies who stumbled on a cool spell and decided to experiment with it. So yeah, I think it's safe to say they were incompetent :P I mean seriously, who thinks "Hey I found a way to break a magic shield that's been up for hundreds of years. Let's make a camping trip of it!" ...okay actually

40 years actually, but who's counting. This whole "camping trip" has the feel of the hijinks Harry, Ron, and Hermione always got into. Just as dangerous, just as clueless, just as incompetent. H R & H were just lucky they were the central characters who "couldn't be killed off" or they would have eventually met the same fate as Marco's friends. Pete's version is a whole lot more realistic.

Innteresting.
So did Gwynn's magic (or theirs, for that matter) kill or disable the monsters, or just illuminate pleasantly?

How many years has it been since the lab Orsintos in Poland was built? How many years has it been at the most since the bishop arrived to the site? How many years did the bubble exist at most, before it was popped? The answer, my friend, is only forty-two. The answer is only forty-two.
Obviously they should have made a concealment bubble to test the counter-spell on. Perhaps no one with the ability to make such bubbles was available. Perhaps Kaspar was also aspiring and wanted the credit for solving the mystery of bishop Osterhagen.
