Week One of the stick insanity or inanity begins now... Both? I'm unsure if this is going to be a five a week or seven a week thing. It's usually seven but it might be five... Nope, it's definitely seven. ----- Vote for Sluggy Freelance at Top Web Comics. Remember to vote EACH day. [#97 -3 *518]

Low-key, don't let that be a sticking point!
Gluden - Odin (one-eyed, even. "One-meatball" is "one-eyeball"?). Low-key - Loke. But how does Penne ala Lightning become the name for Spaghetti Thor?
Thor and Loke were blood brothers, i.e. they had sworn that they were brothers. But they were not real brothers (Loke being a giant in disguise). And here Penne ala Lighting and Low-key are brothers-but-not-actually. Well done!
And there's a Bifrost, the rainbow bridge. Nifty.
Also - love stick figures!

Low-key.... I wonder if Pete's read Gaiman's "American Gods"? Probably a stupid question.... or a very easy name transmutation to make...

It makes perfect sense for the almighty pasta to be the gods of a stick-figured world. For what is a noodle but a stick upon itself, twisted and wrapped until it attains perfect, delicious tangled form?

The first such reference I remember is from Revenge of the Pink Panther, back in 1978. Clouseau and his accomplice were wearing the customary brilliant disguises as Mr. and Mrs. Lo Ki: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CYKTKrrZWuY

I was enjoying today's strip: The Flying Spaghetti Monster, food puns - yes, this was going to be fun...
And then I read the post-comic note. Do you know how depressing it is to have someone who's at least 10 years my Junior basically saying "my age is showing!". :-P Sigh.

Poor Penne ala Lightning. I can see Low-key's departure grates on him.
Woo, more than 1,300 posts! Aw, I missed the exact mark. I am already pasta the round number.

These puns burn worse then being on fire, and I would know.

"You just sticked me off" is a passive-aggressive threat? Methinks Daddy Pasta is a bit hypersensitive, orzo sticked at Low-Key that he wants him gone anyway.
