Well, it replaces "th" with "z", which seems to be code for German.
And this is a very weird case of a zombie hoard, since people can come back from the dead without becoming mindless monsters, and they can become mindless monsters without having died.

Yeah, Bill seems pretty surprised too. It appears that this entity can bind the soul to the body even before killing it -- and kill without leaving a mark. ...but would it leave a Marco?

So it seems the lifecycle of this is that it somehow becomes infected, possibly through dying, functions normally until it rages out, and then becomes a rage-husk. CheeseWhisper wrote: ...but would it leave a Marco? Seems that way. Marco is able to keep himself from reaching stage 2, for now, though.

Interesting. By this logic, I'd have assumed Torg couldn't enter the vault, so I think I'm missing a piece. It'll be interesting to see what happens when Gwynn and Marco show up. Hopefully no one else rages out over the news that they are dead!

We don't know what happened to the Teutongrüpen (fake German, no extra charge) before the gang showed up. Twelve hours of silence and/or lost memories seem to indicate... something. Gwynn and Torg have encountered no such Chehov's psychiatrist yet.

In fact, we can now say for sure that even though it was just revealed that these zombies are indistinguishable from the living, Torg can't be one of them because he passed the barrier.

Correction, Torg was not dead at the time he crossed the barrier. We have no way to be sure that fact has not changed since then.

I wonder if Gwynn's new boyfriend would be able to cross the threshold. And what about Gwynn herself? She started to change when she got mad earlier. Does that mean infection?
I forget -- have we seen Torg start to change? Or is it only magic using people...
Mostly I hope Bill just has things wrong.

Though the blood-spatters are/will be between the bars and the vault. Elza is on the wrong side at this moment. Blood-splatters: check. (Correct side of bars: check and double check.) Warning of Doom: to be determined. LB

Mostly I hope Bill just has things wrong. I believe post-dead Elza was outside hating in gruesome form -- and I don't think she was magical. Also, I don't think this is a "you were just walking through the room with no obvious change and now you're dead" but rather "you were missing for hours and now you're dead". Also also, Gwynn's aspect changes every time she gets magically emotional.

Obviously, this entire arc is about the origin of Oasis, yes?

Unless the rules about being alive have changed since the last time I checked, you normally don't just *become* dead for no reason. It doesn't quite work like the common cold :P
