I find it interesting that, even with that shot of the rage husk army, we haven't gotten so much as a glimpse of "Captain Botanical". I'm getting curious what we're building up to there.

Captain Botanical is tyrannical, a demon Satanical now taking a sabbatical on earth so scenical.

Now this is ironical: despite the order being ecumenical, what saves Gwynn is most un-puritanical, a kiss iconical - and it's all canonical!

*Slow Clap*

Go Torg go! Save Gwynn's life! (As a bonus, imagine how angry she'll be when she realizes she owes you BIG )

Why, thank you, Dodger!

Well, you might argue that Gwynn is less cold in this state.

I love how ghosts can choose their outfits. I expect Bill to go all Saturday Night Fever any minute now

Hey, yeah. If ghosts get to choose what clothes they spend the rest of eternity in, what do you suppose our other main characters might choose for their ghost duds?

Okay, Riff goes with jeans, black t-shirt, trenchcoat, and sunglasses. That's a given. But I mean the rest of them.

Random observation: Bill Sintos went underground in 1971 and died not too much later. Though various preliminary techniques and research leading to CPR were already established, the first attempt at bringing it to major public awareness was in 1972. So it's genuinely plausible that Bill has no idea what Torg's actually doing.

Gwynn's just an idiot.

Or alternately, Torg is actually making out with her corpse. But ew.

Also, it probably just looks wrong when you're looking at someone doing it from above

My pulse is rushing, my head is reeling;
My face is flushing! What is this feeling?
Fervent as a flame; does it have a name?
Yes...

One short day, in the village of Swinoroje,
One short day, with frauleins and men
One short day, with captain botanical
you'll become a rage husk
and spread it to all of us

Eh, cut her some slack. She's had a rough day.

No. I've been giving her slack this entire chapter, with the nonstop Torg hate. It seems like that's been all her dialogue was. But now it's just getting tiresome, as she's just inventing reasons to not like him as she goes. Ugh.

She's not stupid. He's trying to save her damn life, and she's STILL bitching about him.

I was hoping by the end of this chapter, there might be some sort of point to all her hatred. But now, I really wouldn't care if she DID actually die in that vault, permanently. If this is all her character is going to be from now on, the strip is better off without her.

She's 'dead in the head', according to the prophecy.

I can not add anything to this but applause, my friend.

Maybe it's just me, but does Gwynn's ghost dress (last frame) look a whole lot like hands cradling her monkeys?

Very VERY big. Bill said they'd be "moving on," but they're still dead and still in a dead-warded vault. If Torg doesn't save her life, she'll be stuck there for all eternity with Bill.

Of course, she'd probably blame Torg for carrying her in there in the first place, but still...

(Or maybe the exit of Capt. B means their spirits get un-pinned from their body's location so they can escape the vault. Or somethin'.)

Not likely. SNF was about six years after his death and he's been unable to escape to watch it. :/

Wait a minute.

Why do ghosts need to use doors?

I don't know why that didn't occur to me earlier.
