Previously on The Coffee to Friday...Torg imbibed enough caffeine to to make a wallaby reach supersonic speeds. Gwynn summoned a demon that was full of spit. Torg heroically ate a sandwich. We discovered that Torg is more of a donkey's butt than usual. Bill's corpse was molested while nobody was looking. Now we (possibly) return to see if happily evil Gor'thog Empire will finally crush the peacefully warlike Helmazem Federation...----- Vote for Sluggy Freelance at Top Web Comics. Gwynn is a witch. And something else that rhymes with that. Fortunately she's our witch and other thing that rhymes with it.

I was almost ready to be annoyed at the mean-spiritedness on display, but the fact that Torg is totally cool with Gwynn using him as a human soul-shield really makes it work. Go team!

And, what are going to be the consequences of this reunion? Mainly, any changes in character of balance of power within the book?

That was so cruel and selfish I'm not finding humor in that in the slightest. Gwynn just moved up several spots on the "worst people ever" list.
At least it's done. Now to stop the Cap'n.

Gwynn, that is a big fat lie, and we both know it.

Yup, I predicted Gwynnish bitchiness and awesome magicalness. But that goes way beyond Gwynn's normal self-centered bitchiness. Lucky for her Torg is such a clueless trusting fool.
She just better come up with major awesome magicalness.

This page made me laugh out loud; what with Torg's line at the end.

She just better come up with major awesome magicalness. Having read the comments and then re-read the strip, I suspect Gwynn was (mostly) just messing with Torg. She said "just in case," implying she didn't actually think the Book would take a soul to replace the page. She was merely getting in some jackassery of her own. And Torg understood that. LB

LB I'm leaning this way. And yeah, I wonder what effect -- if any -- this will have.

Sure, Gwynn, because that's totally how it happened each time in the past when one of you lost a soul.
