Friday is getting bored. The expected pyrotechnic show hasn't started yet.

Torg's ringtone is "Shake It Off" by Taylor Swift?

Heh!

It would appear that we have a hydra conundrum here.

Yeah Torg, you're in the middle of a nest of plant zombies, hacking and slashing. That's the perfect time to pull out your phone and call Zoë.

So those aren't normal CB deadels, if the flowers are any indication. Does this mean CB's minions always bloom given enough time, or all the flowers popping out on CB's woody corpse grew into a bunch of baby CBs (the hydra conundrum), or ...?

No wait. Those are normal CB deadels, with baby CBs riding them! Not good.

At least they aren't fully powered. No magic-proof aura. Yet.

This looks like a job for a flame thrower!

You're going to need shades and a cigar to pull that one off. Maybe a beret as well.

Also: Pete! Excellent size strip today. Keep up the good work!

That last panel is awesome.

Also, did Chaz always have that cross on his pommel?

That isn't Chaz. That is the sword that Gwynn that used to be one of the students.

Pete, minor kvetch: the rhythm of the ringtone doesn't scan quite right. It would sound more Taylor Swifty if the last part was ”Torg is gonna call you on the phone phone phone phone..."

I know that technically I should be worried for our heroes, but this comic had me snickering out loud.

Pete, if half the comics out there were as good in their prime as you are in burn-out mode, I'd never get any work done!

Do whatever you need to do to take care of yourself. We'd really hate to lose our (almost) daily dose of Sluggy! Or know that you dread feeding it to us.

Take care. That's an order! :bunbun:

Haven't been on the the forum for ages, but wanted to say this week has been fantastic.

Take it easy next week, Pete. You're doing great.

I was concerned that the zombie at the upper right might be the Book Lady, but the Zombie seems to be wearing a coat and the Book Lady just had a black tee shirt.

I love big panels like the last one today. I also love the change from yesterday's ominous tone to today's quick jump back into action.

Ah, so it was REALLY bad NOW. Kinda thought it might be.

Tell us again, Pete, how this was supposed to be a lightweight road trip piece just intended to get the whole group back together. You'd think the plot was running the show or something... :torg:

It's been a great, wild ride, but it's good you've reined in the plot to a doable pace.

Okay, tiny flower monsters riding on the zombies' shoulders is just cute!
