Monday's first idea is taking too long to (easily) figure out, so instead you get this... On this day back in 1199, King Richard the First of England dies from an infection after removing an arrow that somehow had gotten imbedded in his shoulder. So clearly, he should of left it in place. Would of been a great conversation starter. ----- Vote for Sluggy Freelance at Top Web Comics. Remember to vote EACH day. [#112 +1 *127]

Congratulations, Riff. You outrank the destroyer of the world.

It's like superheros. Pretty much each and every one of them are a WMD waiting to happen, and noone bats an eye.

Gwynn gets her powers from King Farahn. In Swedish, Faran means The Peril. Riff is right to be cautious.

When you choices are: potentially resurrecting a world-ending demonic monstrosity, or having Riff work on your house...it's a legitimately difficult decision.

If you count Riff as the root cause of everything to do with the DFA (even with hereti corp pulling the trigger), then Riff really does outrank the Destroyer in terms of potential damage, and he also has a pretty big lead on who will cause the next extinction level event too.

Didn't he also introduce the book into the strip? He found it in his attic 09/15/97 and they immediately tried to use it to summon a demon.

I sometimes forget how ridicoulously dangerous Riff really. Bun-Bun and Gwynn are pretty obvious in how dangerous they are in that there power is central to their characters. Torg lives his role as super spy and master tactician enough that it's become integral to his character as well. Riff? Riff is a non-chalant guy until he pulls out his trusty inflatable laser cannon, current REA model, accidentilly or intentionally blows something up, or even destroys the barriers of space time so throughly a dimension starts literally falling apart. I kind of enjoy how the characters have slowly crept upward in power in this strip, it reminds me of playing DND characters from 1-20. At the beginning they're just relataively average joes, by the end they're so powerful that individually they could probably engineer the end of the universe, and everyone else is just lucky they don't.

Yup, from this week: http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/weekly/970915Riff found the book in the attic, which probably means his dad found it somewhere. I'm sure there is an interesting story there, given Will's history &etc... (Ah -- yes indeed, K'z'k set it up so Will would find it. No wait, that was the scroll Gwynn wrote under K'z'k's influence. Still don't know where the Book came from.)

The Cult would keep the Book with their deity imprisoned in it near to hand.
