Welcome to the Alpha's & Beta's Show of Wordiness in our new and improved studio/bunker. Our "toys" that we used to store in the same place at our old studio/lair, are now stored separately. Just in case.

Now time for our wonderful guest-wordy for today.

Hello everyone! I'm glad to be here today with all of you. I am your most grateful host, Monday on this terrific show. But first before I give you the word for today, I have a somewhat cryptic letter I was told to read to you...

"Pete, your secret appears to be safe." It was signed "Mr. Fri". Odd, but no matter. Onwards!

Your word for today is the mathematical constant of the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter, which is 'pi'. Now a sentence!

Pi is usually just shown as π, but that is just short-hand for 3.141592653589793238462643383279502884197169399375105820974944592307816406286208...

Um, that's nice Monday, but that's good enough.

No, really, that's good.

Er... That's our show for today!

Check back tomorrow for the next show!

STOP!

Now we just need to figure out what "your trailer" is Zoë code for.

""you guys's trailer" - difficult to get around. Maybe "how you guys are doing with your new trailer".

"You" - such a peculiarity, this word, meaning both one and several people. I wonder how many other languages have that - if any! Responsible for all the "you guys" these days. But surprisingly "you" works almost always.

I remember learning English as a kid, and it was so odd to me to place "the" before words, instead of having it as a suffix. In Swedish you have stol, stolen, stolarna, while in English there is chair, the chair, the chairs. It took a while to think of the prefix as normal. A blessing, though - one of the few European languages where there is one determined form, "the", for all words, instead of several (le/la, die/der/das) that you have to remember for each word. We were lucky to get a lingua franca without that obstacle. Now if only we could abolish the soft R and replace it with a brisk, brazen north European R, the language would be perfect.

...But I digress.

What I was going for is that situation where you innocently mix up your sentence halfway through. She has the thought “I’m checking out the trailer that you guys are staying in” but starts with “you guys” and tries to make that a possessive noun to awkward results. Tough to pull off, but I think it fails because the reader tries to parse the words “you guys’s” and it slows down the conversation too much to get the “just a verbal goof” effect. BUT with the comic over two hours late I trudged on. THE MORE YOU KNOW…

I figured it was something like that. It's appropriately awkward.

Also, seconded on the "nice title".

And the decorations... yeeeeeaahhh.

Also also, what happens when Cappy B grows a bit more?

Just realized while looking at the weekly view, in panel 2, is that Elvish? Yes, I know it's a horrible pun, but Veggie Tales did it first.
