To be fair Riff has had a pretty [censored -Z] record at telling who are bad guys.
He worked for Heretic Corp, dated Sasha AND Monica, worked for Lord Grater (who destroyed a galaxy) and was buddy buddy with Schlock. And then he tried to kill Sam and Aylee (ok, they were threats for a while, but then quickly turned good).
Not that Riff won't risk his life to save random civvies from outsiders and whatnot, he just doesn't have a good track record and telling who is evil.

He worked for ... Lord Grater (who destroyed a galaxy) no, he worked for Grater's Emperor, who destroyed a galaxy because he didn't account for the possibility that Bun-Bun would steal Gofotron's crotch. Lord Grater didn't really have much to do with it. Also, they were press-ganged.
