Thursday has received the results of yesterday's test... Six forum members contacted me about the free Portal Bundle. Two of them said they would like it, but if someone else asked for it, give it to them instead. While four others did want it. But unfortunately only one of them can receive it, since I only have one to give away. So each person will be assigned a number from 1 to 6. I will roll one six-sided die (using random.org), and if it's your number, you get it. If it's one that said to give it to someone else, I will re-roll. And it is... 6 One of the two. Even though they say they never played either game before. Re-roll... 5 It's one of the four. Congratulations wade419, you get the Portal Bundle. ----- Vote for Sluggy Freelance at Top Web Comics. Nicely done. Very old school. Just missing the smoke bomb.

I'm fine with this comic, but the perspective on his desk is killing me. It looks like it could fit in his back pocket.
"What is this?! A desk for ants?!" /zoolander

I thought the Vrykolakas revered Lysinda. They want to kill Sam (because of one doofus "nice cans" remark!?), but I would think they'd be glad to have Lysinda back.

They're acting like they know (and possibly the Dr too) that the remains are that of Sam. Lysinda would indeed be someone Philannon would not despise.

No. Dr Viustuvius seems to know, but Urja (and therefor philannon) apparently does not. She says that the doctor "handed them the ability to rebuild that circle". As far as we know, ONLY queen Lysinda could actually rebuild it. That's probably why he thinks she is so stupid, that and the fact she let him casually walk to his trapdoor.

After seeing him go through the trapdoor, and all those vamps after him, I keep on thinking of a line in Star Wars.
It's a trap!

Yeah... I'm still confused on that too.
The "war" was only with Sam's Cirkail Mamajama. IIRC, Philannon even stated the only reason they would war with him was that he was "no longer of the Lysinda Circle". It seems strange that they would be doing this.

I don't feel like either Urja, Philinnon, or Dr. V knows it's Sam and not Lysinda.
And even if Philinnon suddenly turned against Lysinda, why would she see it as such a betrayal if Vistuvius continues supporting the alliance he's honored for centuries?

Here is a full page picture of Urja. http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20100424Quite the babe, except for the soul-less, undead, murderess blood-sucking monster thing. She does have nice cans.

Dr. V is maybe the best-equipped to know -- with his knowledge of blood and all, he could maybe identify a rotting carcass as being a vamp, or The Queen Vamp with the high-test blood. But none of them have actually seen the remains. They're just going by Sylvia's claim that it's Lysinda. I really like Dr. V. He's a creepy bad guy -- but he's a snarky, funny, smart creepy bad guy.

Hard to say how anyone besides Torg and co. would KNOW that Lysinda was destroyed, so I'm not sure any of them could know Sylvia's wrong. If we're to take what they say at face value, they seem to be against raising Lysinda, which seems quite ungrateful of them, especially considering that Sam really hasn't done all that much to them. Dr. V is obviously being sarcastic about Sam, but that doesn't mean he knows the remains belong to Sam, just that he's aware of Sam's buffoonery and general incompetence.
