Thursday just found out that a tv series it was working through online is set to expire in three days. Fortunately it only has six episodes to go. Unfortunately it has six episodes to go. A time machine would be handy right about now... ----- Vote for Sluggy Freelance at Top Web Comics. Remember to vote EACH day. Wed=[#87 +0 *957] Thu=[#86 +1 *999]

WTF is going on here? I thought Urja would be a challenge for Kusari, but still in no way did I foresee a possibility where if the battle were so one-sided it would be in Urja's favor.

If it's in Urja's favor, it doesn't seem to be by much right now. Looks like Kusari just got in a lucky leg-sweep. Two things I'm wondering now: What WOULD it take for Philinnon to get involved directly? And was anyone else also trying to get a better look at Kusari's left eye?

Hmmm... now that I look again, you seem to be right. I thought it was another dodge at first.

She may actually be inhuman. But Urja is definitely SUPER-human. She's not only a vamp, she's a vamp master and an elite vamp warrior. Even if she's "only" a Vryko master, she still has speed, strength, and reactions far above any mere mortal. If Kusari wasn't a "good guy" (or at least a regular character) I would have bet good money on Urja. Of course, Arminius managed to defeat Grabrijan and almost Philinnon, and he's just a crazy old dude with some stakes and silver toys...

She's currently in the Pre-staked position. garyfritz wrote: Lord Golbez wrote: WTF is going on here? Thus, does it matter from the 'regular character' point of view? It's anybody's game. My opinion? Always bet on the man with the bazooka.

I've just been re-reading Fire And Rain (soooo goooood), and I'd forgotten about the 'still waiting for [...] a replacement Kusari' line ( http://sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/020213)

For most of these one-on-one fight panels, Urja has looked amused.
I still can't believe I'm rooting for Kusari. Weird day. I wonder if she'll break a stake on Urja's wonderbra.
