Yes, she's up! And... not human, apparently? Could she just be extremely strong-willed? Or is the compulsion to obey H-C's CEO so deeply ingrained that nothing, not even vampiric mind-control can overcome it? I doubt I'll ever get an answer, but good to see that she's still in the fight.

We've know for quite some time that she isn't "human". With everything out there in the Sluggy Universe, why would an inhuman assassin that be surprising? I mean Bun-Bun is a rabbit that can talk and is very adept with weapons, and isn't human. We don't go on about how weird it is for him... Wait one second...
Oh. My. Gods. Kusari is [SPEC REMOVED].

She suffers a compound fracture, and later in the day she's "walking around without even a limp."Whatever she is, she's no normal human. And I think Urja is about to have a VERY richly-deserved Bad Day. Go Kusari! It feels just a little weird to be rooting for her. I mean, she's been the main muscle of one of the comic's big bads for well over a decade now. Hoping for her to win just goes against my instincts. But then I remember who she's fighting. Go Kusari!

I guess that when hC wants to have total control of something/one, they also make sure that mind control from other sources does not work on her.

the "Non human" concept really doesn't seem necessary. She indicates that the vorpyr mind control is more powerful (and that has been stated before) and even vorpyr mind control has limits (Sam can't force women to think he's cool, no matter how hard he tries). It's entirely possible that someone as driven as Kusari could just shrug off Vryko mind control.

Shrug off, sure. But Kusari just outright ignored it, hence Urja's reaction in the last panel.
I'm still leaning towards my theory of who Kusari is. Maybe if Urja is baited into biting her, we'll find out for sure.

Yep, she dun figured out whats been strongly implied years ago.
Also, that smile in the 5th panel does not look fitting at all. Isn't she supposed to be shocked/confused/annoyed at K-lady not being human? So isn't a slight frown more fitting?

Oh. My. Gods. Kusari is [SPEC REMOVED]. You forgot 'actual God of Power', thrown out of time itself multiple times, and primary nemesis of Santa Clause (and many others). A *frog* can talk and run a company. Big deal on the talking thing. I wonder if Kusari has ANY freewill at all, by design. So far, the vast of sluggyverse history suggests *nope!* Urja is trying to mind control the wrong person, if you ask me. It fits in with Kusari's complete lack of self-preservation.

Dust her Kusari! This. Also, I'm surprised Kusari stopped to share her plans (unless she was just stalling). I wish she had stashed the stake in her hip pocket or something. Does Kusari quick-heal? Or do they just reboot/replace her? Either way, Pete, your drama is high and your readers are tuned in!

KoalaVamps having limited mind control is an interesting new trait. Neat strip. I like the eye detail in the 4th panel.
Also, "spoke to soon" should be spoke too soon.
