It's sometimes hard to see underneath the scatterbrain, but Sam really does rock.
Here I was expecting a nastier reaction - shame on me for underestimating.
On the other hand, its a little sad how resigned Sam is to the fact that Riff will never abide his presence.

Anger of course for getting burned, but then immediately followed by the realization that Riff had effectively just saved everybody's (un)life and killed a bunch of [sams] biggest enemies. And of course Riff knew what he was doing (or so sam assumes). I referenced a scene from BG2 in the last thread. Minsc, the mentally-handicapped berserker, is trapped in a cage that is effectively welded shut. The protag pisses him off, he berserks and bends the bars. Just before he can attack he exclaims "OOOOH I understand now! You said what you did just to get me mad, mad enough to break FREE!" Of course, he decides the protag meant well regardless of the protags actual intentions In much the same way I expected sam to remain utterly oblivious to Riffs disregard for his (un)life and assume this was all just a ploy to save him like a true friend.

And he isn't ever going to be happy about Riff (Riff isn't Torg, after all).
