Interesting. I guess it never happened, but I kind of figured Vryko disembodied heads could talk too. Or perhaps they can and it's just a surprise to Izzy as she's never seen it.

Well I was gonna ask the same thing as Izzy, but if ZHoaS (RIP) can talk in the same condition..

Physically not possible as the air comes from the lungs, which pushes the air through to make sound. lol. But the world would be 20000% less funny if we followed the silly world of physics! Quite frankly, I'm more amazed that Pete uploaded today's comic before midnight! Wooooo!

I re-read that whole episode two days ago, so I had already seen the talking heads. But I was wondering if that would still be the case. Now we know! Spirantz wrote: Physically not possible as the air comes from the lungs, which pushes the air through to make sound. lol. Oh, you did not just write lol.... Well, mere humans might need lungs, but powerful Lysinda vampires can surely generate an air flow by pressing their throats together quickly.

Bah, vampire magic allows it to happen without lungs. Just like the flying and super regeneration that only kinda follows the law of conservation of matter (oh poop, Sam can violate the laws of equivalent exchange).

Well, mere humans might need lungs, but powerful Lysinda vampires can surely generate an air flow by pressing their throats together quickly. like, the end of their throat holes where they got chopped off? If those flapped together wildly, it'd cause air to exit on both ends, creating voice.... And a weird wonky sound on the other end. Humans are more advanced though. Our throats get 'pressed together' many times per second, letting the air do the work for us ;) See: vocal cords and the Bernoulli effect. Lol. Infact, if vampires can do that flapping, it'd be like having two sets of vocal cords, which'd make their voice sound extra wonky. Perhaps that's why their voices are written with swuiggly letters. DISEMBODIED VAMPIRE HEADS USE DOUBLE VOCAL CORDS!

Further fun facts! If severed vampire heads basically have two sets of vocal cords, this would make them natural 'throat singers'. Like, that Tuvan throat singing stuff. Basically, you get one pitch per set of vocal cords. Throat singers can pretty much makeshift a second one which gives them that cool effect. Sam can finally woo the ladies as a musician! .... But only when his head is severed.

I thought vampires didn't have breath anyway. Their speech always defies explanation, not just when their heads roll.
