Farewell passive-aggressive Torg, you will not be missed!

Bur seriously, I hope Torg realizes that being questioned, being challenged and things not going the way you planned are part of the challenges of leadership. Unfortunately, he seemed to have failed the test.

Vacations for Torg will be great for him and for me.

I get why Torg is so ticked. I do. He's worked like HELL to keep everyone in one piece, working on taking out Hereti-corp, trying to figure out what has been going on with Oasis, somehow managed to SNAG Knight-1, Knight-1 and Riff turn on him together and make him abandon one of the few people who had his back during the Minions Are Forever arcs.

It's easy for Riff to forget that Torg had to run an entire rebel force, under protest, in the DOL. He has a bit of that spirit here, mixed in with a small amount of shudder-worthy annoyance.

I'm guessing "What a Nerd-Boy" is the phrase referred to in the title.

I have my own specs about where they are headed. I'm hoping that Sam, wherever he is, is safe.

Harsh!

On the other side of the coin Riff did save Torgs life by stopping him running out to confront several dozen Vryko vamps. There was no way Torg would have got Sam and Sylvia into the safe room in time. Also Riff did what he could to ensure Sam and Sylvia had a chance of survival by setting up the sprinklers. Then, when the bomb trigger didn't work, Riff and Izzy walked out to put themselves in serious danger to remove the Vryko threat.

Sam hasn't been Riff's friend since he became a vamp and he's been quite open about it, yet he made an attempt to give him a fighting chance at getting through it. So how is it betrayal?

Riff was about saving Torg and ending the vamp threat at the very real risk of his own life. I really admire that.

Torg is being a jerk wallowing in self loathing here. Ok, he feels terrible about beheading Sam, but he could have restored him later and explained. Instead he walked away, without even knowing what happened to him.

And even Torg must have known how dangerous Sylvia is, particularly to Zoe as Lysinda's killer.

Some sympathy, but eroding steadily as Torg continues to be a dork.

That'd be fine if Riff did what he did to save Torg's life. It was an unintended consequence of knocking Torg out.

Every single thing Riff and Izzy did in that moment - Izzy going out to set off the bombs, Riff setting up the sprinklers and hiding the two of them in his coat - could've been done with Torg's help.

Torg doesn't feel terrible about beheading Sam, he feels terrible about HAVING to behead Sam. Ending the threat and picking up any pieces later on is a Riff move. Torg's plans have always been about making sure none of the pieces get knocked over in the first place, and with some unforeseen exceptions (Oasis being pyrokinetic, Sasha being a traitor, etc), he's been pretty good about that. Despite all Torg's done, Riff saying he doesn't understand is Riff thinking he is STILL the naïve idiot he's been since day one of this strip. Torg's not that person anymore, and of all people, Riff should know that.

I don't think for a second Torg and Zoe are being genuine in their offer to leave. You're right, though, Torg is being a dork right now. But they're making a pretty heavy-handed point to Riff, one that he needs to hear. Torg leaving would set things back way too much, and if we're to get any sort of wrap-up to the main story in a year and half, we don't have time for two to three months of the side-adventures of Torg and Zoe.

I also don't think Bun-Bun's said his four words yet. But then I've always had this weird fantasy where Bun-Bun will be the one who talks some sense into people. There's been situations in the past where I thought that would happen. Maybe this time it will, because Bun-Bun won't go with all this passive-aggressive crap, he'll just cut right to the chase. And if Torg actually intends to leave, someone needs to do that, because Riff doesn't succeed without Torg.

There's probably some spec here that will be deleted. Dunno. We'll see.

Bun-Bun actually talked some sense into Torg back in Wayang Kulit. In fact, I believe the Bun knows more about Torg's "failure to protect Zoe" backstory than anyone else.

But yeah, I don't buy this "we're leaving" storyline. I think some discussion needs to happen between several parties, and maybe this will finally get all that out in the open.

I can see both sides of this -- but to say that Riff could have done those things with Torg's help is to ignore the fact that arguing with Torg about it would have cost them the time window in which they could act.

If anyone honestly think that Torg is quitting for good...

Shame on you.

Seriously?

For shame.

What the What?
Last time we saw Riff take control of a city we saw Torg take it down (4U city).

And where are they going to take a vacation: Bun Bun's casino?
Given that a new Harry Potter derivative media just came out and it involves Native Americans I am hoping that Torg gets a conclusions to the Torg Potter stuff (and that Zoe is there for some reason). Heck, the Torg Potter cast are probably in their 20's now so they can do college frat stuff.

Too late Torg, he's already packed and has one foot out the door.
