I expected his wife to be Sasha, but I didn't expect her to skip town. She must have been involved in helping Hereticorp take over NASA. Mission accomplished? Also has it really been 5 years since Sasha's cover was blown in China?

I've been strongly suspecting that Sasha was Tommy's wife since he said "nothing bothers that woman", but if you predicted that she had already left him, then your crystal ball is better than mine.

I suspected long suffering wife was Sasha... but 5 years? Not sure how that fits in the Sluggy timestream. I can never figure out how time passes in the sluggyverse.

I figure time passes the same way it does here, its just that everyone's ageless. How else would all those pop culture references fit? :P

I've been reading Sluggy since the first year, but I just don't have the steel trap memory to recall everything that ever happened. Have we seen Tommy before yesterday? Where are you guy getting the five year number? I do remember that Pete tried to keep the strip in real time near the beginning, but it became impossible.

From http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/160516 -- they have been married for almost five years, and there's no telling how long their courtship was. I wonder who was masquerading as Sasha's parents?

Wow. Silverwalker left this one in plain sight on yesterday's reactions (along with Oasis), but I didn't expect it to be the right answer. Just... wow. garyfritz wrote: Tuckstuck wrote: I honestly didn't see THAT coming Me neither. You all in the "well that was obvious" crowd obviously have better crystal balls than I do. I've been assuming for the past week that this is all alternate-dimension stuff.

Makes me wonder if Sasha is a true sociopath, mind controlled, or what. I mean...what's her stake in all this? How high up is she? That's a whole lot of derranged, near-perfect shadow work that she's been doing for years.
I hope this is one of the threads that Pete reveals before the third act comes to a close.

I don't get any sense of exerted control, either. She's striking me as fairly cooly professional with small glimpses of humanity underneath it. I'm trying to recall the last meeting with Torg and wether she showed much remorse for how things went down. She did try to genuinely assassinate Riff during the big reveal.
I think in the end from what we know of her thus far is that she may have a soft spot for the main cast, but does consider herself a HC employee/operative first.
That said, I think this moment in the current comic shows some additionally cruelty/coldness. Will be interesting to see how this setup fits in.
