Friday had a tiring day. But not tired enough to not give you the Nifty Counter of Impending Doomâ„¢ 364 I know, it's not very fancy. The whistling bells did not work out as expected. ----- Vote for Sluggy Freelance at Top Web Comics. Remember to vote EACH day. Whoa, it's teenager beat-down day... More impressive, she actually seems contrite.
Interesting. In the train station Katie looked about 20. More makeup, more defined lips & brows. In today's strip, and less so on Wednesday, she looks about 15 again. Was that intentional, i.e. she dolled herself up to run away, but now she's back to at-home dress?

I wish I was on the run from a mega corporation with a hot psycho assassin taking care of me when you put it like that.

"When I was your age we had to walk 20 miles in the snow to escape an evil corporation and we slept in a cave to hide! You don't know how good you have it, child!"

She may be 20 something years old now, but she still gets chided and pushed around like a pre-teen.

Well, she puts on a good lecturing tone, but I'm sure not about to forget her previous lack of concern that her daughter ran away.

I have been waiting for this verbal beat down for several days now and it is more glorious than I expected. That was great. A mansion with indoor and outdoor pools is not a prison cell. Nice one.

Now I want to build a pool in "prison architecht" - wonder what defines a mansion? Sofas and TV's?
Any practical reason I could not turn my prison into a giant mansion? (if any fellow players out there)

I still can't tell if Katie is being sarcastic in the last panel. I'm sure she is, but she's certainly not arguing in favour of her side anymore.
I'd make further fun of her, but most adults never advance beyond that either...
