This is the side of Torg we needed to see. Excellent (assumedly?) start to a dream sequence.

Oh wow, is that the cliff he sat on at his marriage to Oasis all those years ago? I can't imagine all the stress that must be building up in his mind if he's dreaming about this.

We don't know what would have happened differently if Torg had stayed in the picture: Half of the reason he left was because Riff was already going rogue and starting to challenge him on leadership and choices. But after finding out what happened, I can understand his guilt. Riff never wanted to try it on his own. He lost over 3/4 of the special ops elves, burned two valuable allies (three, if you count brain-digbot).

Poor Torg.

When exactly did Torg set up Teresa to fail? If I recall, he was being patient with her and letting her take her time.

Well, this is interesting. I wonder where it's going.

Flowers and debris included.

Well, he did keep Crushestro's survival a secret from her... also, keep in mind that this is a very subjective approach, depending entirely on Torg's point of view.

Pete, the images in today's strip are among the most emotionally powerful I've seen in Sluggy Freelance. Well done! It's a good start to this chapter.

The minor difference is that Oasis doesn't have the stab wound in the dream image though.

My guess is that he got that update from Squishydodo. This might well account for his thoughts in the last 2 panels given the recent interplay between Theresa and Riff.

I like this strip. It does echo the sequence in Wayang Kulit from 30-Apr-2006 to 07-May-2006 where Torg starts running, kills several people that he cares about, and tries to hide from his sense of guilt. Both sequences give insight into Torg's thoughts and both have considerable power when doing so.

Edit: And in the interval between my typing my posts and actually hitting submit, I see that Thom Solo said something very similar.

And why did he have to?

I was actually thinking of a cross between Roken and Wayang Kulit.

This should be an interesting ride.
