They can't know the truth! The truth, you see, is bad! I will be branded with this mistake for the rest of my life! My children's children will walk down the street and people will point and say, "Look, there goes the spawn of Tuesday the Loser"!

Torg doesn't seem phased at all about the resemblance between Oasis and Sin'thea which seems odd. Maybe it is just supposed to be a familial resemblance.

Those spiders in the corner look really interested in this conversation

I'd also go so far as to say that Torg has seen so many strange and shocking things that Teresa's mom looking just like the supposedly unrelated Oasis is merely run-of-the-mill unusual to him.

Spiders are a symbol of fate around here. Though I'm not going to claim that these specific spiders are fate spiders (that'd be spec anyway), I think they are meant to convey that the shadow of fate looms large over these connections. And certainly spiders hang around Sin'thea, an author of a book on fate magic.

Yeah I'm thinking some things, but I'll save em for the spec forums

Now I get why Scholock is so obsesses with Oasis. That little rat was competing with him for book deals back in the day!

Fiction has 'coincidences'.
Reality has anecdotal 'evidence'.

There are a lot of plot references being drawn (in both senses of the word) into these 3 short panels! Other people seem to be relegating it to spec, so I will too.

I'd agree and add that he'd already noted resemblance back when he first came into contact with the sisters, so this is probably just confirming suspicions.

You reminded me of this quote: "I don't believe in magic, but I believe in interpreting coincidence exactly the way you want to" - Sherman Alexie

And today's spec topic is… *reaches into hat* who is Torg talking about?

Percy is his usual go-to for research like that...

So very true.

As for the investigation, it's definitely Percy. Pete linked to Percy finding more info on her the first time. No reason to assume he'd use someone else for the job.
The only spec is: How will Oasis react to the picture? Will she recognize her, or see a resemblance?
