Tuesday's Phrase of the Day

Hand over Fist

The phrase's origin comes from the nautical phrase of hand over hand. This referred to the steady pulling of a rope on a ship with one hand going over the other to grab the rope, and repeating until the task was complete. Now because one hand that is grabbing the rope looks like a fist, it changed to the term we know, but it still meant the same thing.

In business, it was used to say that this business was bringing in a steady income. Over time though, the idea that a business was doing okay with a consistent amount of money coming in, was replaced with the idea that a business had to bring in "a bunch" of money to be considered okay. Now since the phrase had become attached to business to mean that the business was doing good, the phrase's definition changed with what the definition of "good" meant as well.

Ever since I've been letting the asbestos mine "adopt" these surplus orphans, I've been making money hand over fist.

I thought you meant the laser cannon at first, but you mean her hair don't you? Eh. She's always had those. That would be quite a twist if it were true.

Hm. I am going to reserve judgement on this scene until we see what Riff really thinks when he's out of earshot from Sasha.

Everyday, I want her to be telling the truth. Maybe she actually is...hmmm...

That first panel made me so nervous!

Tomorrow is not a lot of time for you, Sasha, true, but our tomorrows last for months

If Riff :riff: turning his back was bait, it looks like Sasha :sasha: didn't bite.

Or maybe she did.

I expect tomorrow to be at least as long as the day Riff :riff: and Zoe :zoe: went to 4U City.

Riff is sure giving up some critical intel: they attack tomorrow, and they're targeting Schlock. That wasn't smart, whether Sasha is still loyal to hC or not.

Sasha passed one test? Big deal. She's a deep undercover agent.

As much as I loved Sasha before, I'll love her more as a villain now.

Personally, I would love to see Sasha redeem herself with the good guys.

Weird girl, Sasha.

Well she didn't shoot Riff. Do I DARE trust Sasha? Do I dare start to hope again!? I'm starting to! i'm stupidly, stupidly starting to! Don't break my heart again Sasha! Redeem yourself <3

Also, i don't blame Riff for gunning for Schlock dead after everything that's happened.
