Possibly, but we also don't know how the web was broken. Could someone have killed K'Z'K? I imagine destroying a pillar of creation would be rather devastating to the web it was bound into....

I think in their case, it's related to Timeless Space being drained, although it was probably more complicated than that. Kizz himself has never seemed to care much for the fate web though, except as a bothersome obstacle that keeps him from bluntly reverse-engineering himself into existence. Destroying it certainly wouldn't harm him any more than it harmed humans, who are also bound to the web.
