Hard to say. All we know is they're off the grid and so was Oasis till now. Although for that matter, for all we know Oasis has been assassinating bad dudes up and down the coast for years now, staying under the radar. Depends on whether her visit to Needles's establishment is business or personal

I know this makes no sense whatsoever, but somehow, I get the feeling that Oasis will, very surprisingly, wind up losing this fight.

Yeah, I got that vibe, too. I would've specced that she WAS N'aaaw in disguise, but she's too articulate. Plus, wasn't N'aaaw only bulked-out from the waist up, when in demon form?

Still, your spec that she will end up being a demon could be spot-on. :)

Between possibly capturing Oasis and possibly soon having the right info to help Schlock piece together where Riff is, Mr. Needles could be one of Schlock's favorite people real soon.

I'd thought the entire Needles gang were demons, but really, their motivations are just too mundane. I don't think we've seen anyone possessed by a demon who cared this much about money.

They're just bad people.

I think they're just the impetus to get Oasis back on Schlock's radar and set up a potential confrontation.

Will capture Oasis for use in just-mentioned criminal activities - hey, if you're in the flesh trade you don't waste quality goods.
And then Oasis will remind everyone of her pyrokinetic abilities - actually she might decide NOT to use them in a "I learned to control myself from master Feng"-moment, then go for a more subtle, non-suicidal approach.

Hey, not all demons can be soul collecting apocalypse bringers. But yeah, I don't see much reason to think they're demons. And if Kitty is a demon we should find out quite shortly.

So assuming they don't get up and reveal themselves to be cultist demons under new/old management, I think I'm beginning to understand how this ties into everything. It's no coincidence she targeted a bad dude who was planning on opening a new casino - I think she's somehow found out about Bun Bun and Torg's little project.

The connection is Ninja Mc'smoked, I don't think Oasis needs to know about the new casino.

She does if she's going to converge there with everyone else.

I'm actually leaning a different direction now. She doesn't know about Bun Bun's casino yet. But taking over Needles' assets will cause her to discover it. That makes way more sense

I think we've already pretty much been given the reason Oasis went after Mr. Needles and it has nothing to do with Bun-Bun or his casino. The connection to Senator Smarmison is a connection to Hereticorp. Seems pretty obvious that Oasis has been doing some investigative work on her own and is taking down baddies with hC connections. She already had to find out that he was a rich guy who did bad things, so how much more unlikely is it for her to find out the senator connection? At least that seems more plausible to me than that she randomly comes across a bad guy connected to Hereticorp while just targeting him for money.

And while I'm sure Oasis wants to find Torg, the connection between Needles and Torg is simply too tenuous for it to be believable that she came after him to find Torg.

I have some guesses as to why Katie keeps running away:
- She initially bonded well with Oasis but became terrified of her after she stabbed Nash Straw.
- She is worried about her mum's behaviour.
- She feels like a bird in a gilded cage given that she is in opulent surroundings and yet is on the run from Hereti corp; she would rather live a more normal life.


Kareen's behaviour also worries me:
- She is frighteningly unconcerned about Katie repeatedly running away. Katie likely has remained safe due to Oasis's intervention but that does not make this reaction any less curious.
- She apparently has taken to the bottle. This might be due to the events of the past few years (?) but is worrisome nonetheless.
- She has gone for the extravagant lifestyle. This, again, might be a response to the stress of being on the run for so long. It does betray a certain lack of caution though.
- She must have contacts, almost certainly black market, and a way to remain anonymous, possibly an assumed identity, given the kind of business dealings that she is undertaking while trying to remain hidden. This is quite a change from being a storekeeper.
- She is more or less living off Oasis's "earnings" and either feels no guilt, or is in denial about that fact.
- All of this paints a rather dark picture.

I just wanted to say that I feel confident Katie knows what she is doing and that she is perfectly safe. That cup though is not long for this world and will go the way of the chocolate ice cream.
