Ooh! Ooh!
Marco gets rage-ified, but he only knows hippie feel-good spells, so he zaps Torg and Gwynn with happathy (happy apathy?) and then drags them away.

Things are pointing so strongly towards Marco being infected that I'm starting to suspect Gwynn instead. This is what comes of trying to anticipate Pete.

On Friday, Gwynn stops right at the door, Monday we see that it's Marco who stop Gwynn with a tentacle.

Plot twist: They both cross the wards, but Torg cannot follow them back.

Honestly, it's highly likely Gwynn's been "physically dead" since Bun Bun ran Gwy'z'k through the meat grinder over a decade ago and it's the power of the book and Farahn that has kept her "alive".

The door Ward may be a bit more sophisticated than simply, 'The dead shall not pass'. It may block evil magic, or simply non-teutonic magic as well.

I had a crazy thought, so I'll put it here for everyone to laugh at.
Maybe the reason Gwynn can't go through the door doesn't have anything to do with being dead or that Marco is stopping her, but that she's wearing the clothing from one of Marco's friends that died. So to get past the ward she would have to take it all off...
That does sound like something Pete would do. Especially since he's drawing it.
EDIT: Left out a necessary word.

Not so crazy, I thought the same thing.
Maybe Torg could walk past the wards because all his clothes are synthetic fabric? :D

The wards were established in the 70's, and polyester was in at the time.....

Yep, she's a plant. But never fear, the Book of Evil has a plan. Plants are mostly cellulose. Paper is made from cellulose. Evil zombie plants produce a paper so special that a person's soul can be inscribed upon its pages.

That would be a wacky twist.
If the clothing is considered "dead", then so is Torg's hair -- so I vote no on that.
