Wonder if he's just there to save Drake? Looks like Pete's confirmed that Tyler was returned around 1997 or earlier.

My guess... Pete has had the overarching mega-story behind the story planned since the early days, but cool little details like this he probably just sees an opportunity for a connection and goes for it.

Now that I know that you're talking about Dr. Schlock… swmartian wrote: A pair of glasses, with one opaque lens... ...in timeless space... Just sayin'...
Of course, there are two Bun-Bun's running around, both with a penchant for putting peoples eyes out. So it's probably nothing........ Two points against a connection: - Those glasses have the opaque lens over the right eye; Schlock's have the opaque lens over the left eye.
- It's not a regular pair of glasses with one opaque lens; it's a pair of sunglasses with one lens missing.

Oops. You are correct - I missed seeing the lens melt in the previous comic. I had checked and it looked like Tyler's sunglasses were round not square - and that is what threw me off. But I had noticed that the opaque or missing lens was not the same one as Schlock's - which is why I didn't stick my neck out any farther than I actually did. Which was apparently too much either way.

How screwy would it be to have 3 Schlock's in one timeline?

So, let's assume the ghost in the 1997 comic is Uncle Time/Tempest. "Know that this one is now mine" takes on new meaning when you consider that Tempest and Googol were the architects behind Sluggy Freelance (Torg's middle name...), supposedly a plan to stop K'z'k and correct his manipulations of the web in Mokahdun. Then again, we have a fate spider who thinks that Tempest is behind the Tangle in the web and that "Sluggy Freelance is not what you thought it was about". http://sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/140711Perhaps Ty is not hallucinating. Perhaps we are seeing Uncle Time show his true colors, twisted by millenia of being exiled to Timeless Space.

With the green aura, 6* legs, and talk of devouring his soul, I first thought that the Uncle Time apparition in the comic for the 15th was in fact K'Z'K or K'Z'K exerting some influence on Uncle Time. But now I think that Tyler is just legitimately hallucinating. Same goes for the comic in the jail back in 97.

Marcus wrote: Tyler actually is Marcus Chen? That would be pretty interesting. Chen claims to have worked with Oasis before and Tyler probably spent some time with Oasis in Bluemoor, so it's definitely possible…

Pretty sure the Orsintos stuff took place waaaay before 1997, let alone 2002. In 2002 Chen was already working for HC and got demoted as seen here.

Tyler is definitely Dr. NewGuy, like yurak said.
And while he's probably there to save Drake, it's also possible he's a Torg spy.

I'm also gonna go with Dr Newguy.
It's the most romantic/happiest ending for those two loveable nitwits.
I base this off of the "AWWW THAT WOULD BE SWEET" evidence.
