I'm holding off on seeing it until Saturday -- Friday night, some people are coming over and we're marathoning Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 1 and 2, Thor, and Captain America (followed by Free Comic Book Day!). One of my friends is well versed in Marvel Lore, so he'll be educating us in all the background info and mythic nuance of the films as we go, so we'll all be well primed to fully enjoy Avengers... after a bit of sleep Saturday afternoon.

All of which is my SP this weekend.

My annoyance is that I am neither Solara nor quantumcat. Especially quantumcat

I'm gonna wait a few days before going to see the Avengers. That way I won't have to put up with any other harmanz in mah theatre.

Current Annoyance: I've been playing too much Urban Dead.

There is no such thing as blocked websites, only people that do not know about proxy sites :))

That only works if the IT staff is unaware of proxy sites. Which I doubt. Also if I care more about reading a website than keeping my job. Which I don't.

Playing Dead Island and loving it except for one thing... I keep experiencing the "Transformers 3" effect. I'm playing the Asian chick and EVERY time I kick someone, the fact that she's running around on an island full of zombies in high freakin' heels just irritates me.

Ngrgh. I'm an idiot. I booked a vacation to Japan during the same week that I'm supposed to attend a conference. The tickets are non-refundable. *head desk*

They may be transferable. See if you can get a booking on a later week.

One of my favorite characters was just killed off. Sorry no other reference than that because it would be a spoiler otherwise and then I might end up in this thread as a post and not a poster.

My current annoyance is fear of spoilers, and people that whine about being spoiled. You are bad people.

I don't like being spoiled, but I don't outright fear spoilers. In fact, sometimes hearing about an important twist or plot point before I'm supposed to know it has gotten me interested enough to watch something I might not have otherwise.

I agree -- to a point. A show/movie/book should hold up without spoilers ruining the story. However, there's a little extra zest to not knowing what's coming, sort of like with life. If you know Wash is going to die, you're prepped for it. It sucks, but it your ready. When it's out of the blue, the shock wrenches the emotions.

I think that's why shocking plot twists are so memorable. The emotion behind it sticks with you.

My ex-and-soon-to-be-again boss has given me permission to skip the conference, so yay, major bummer averted.

HIPAA. A friend of mine was in a serious car accident yesterday, his parents live out of state, and he's all alone in the ICU because they won't let his ex husband go in the room, since their marriage wasn't legal in this state. They won't tell him much either, even though he has their marriage certificate. This. Sucks. Hard.

I am angry and saddened for your friend. Unbelievable. That's not an annoyance, that's a tragedy.
