Them and spammers. It's like moths to a flame. Pun intended.

Currently having an internal tussle over my anger at the husband for prior problems.

Too bad you can't use real flames on them. For some reason law enforcement frowns on that.

Stupid legalities.

I really want to go to the Steampunk Masquerade ball in September here, but my husband doesn't want to go which means I need to find a date to go with me. I could go by myself, but I'd rather not dance with complete strangers.

In this case, isn't it common procedure to find a date purely for the purposes of making the significant other jealous, thereby ensuring that they'll want to go to the dance just to prevent you from going with someone else?

You humans have a very odd culture.

He doesn't like dressing up, so he wouldn't go regardless. I've got a friend I met from another forum who's going with me. Now I just need to get some sort of costume squared away. Most pieces I can get for around $70 or less each except for the shoes. Damn shoes being so expensive all the time.

Does anyone know a good method for beating writer's block?

Please...

Write anyway, whether it's on topic or not.

One technique I used to use whenever I had writers block was to keep a journal. Whenever I couldn't write because of a block, I'd just start another entry in the journal and keep writing about every little random thought I had.

One method I found that worked was to write about the writer's block, how frustrating it was, what I was doing to try to break it, just describing my surroundings and how they made me feel.

I also performed an impro scene recently where I was playing as someone who had writer's block. I ended up drinking a lot of tea.

Didn't fall asleep until almost midnight, and was wide awake at four thirty. Now that I'm just about sleepy enough to go back to bed, I have to get ready for work. Oh, and we have tickets to the midnight Dark Knight Rises, so I REALLY needed to get a good night's sleep. And the icing on the cake (pun SO not intended) is I realized at about 9:30 last night I forgot to pick up our anniversary cake on Tuesday. I was REALLY looking forward to that cake, since we barely got any of our own cake at our wedding.
