A politician with a sense of humor? It really is the end of the world.

As someone who spent the last 9 years looking at university websites, the new Monsters Inc. promotional website is pretty hilarious.

Movie Bar Codes. Each frame of a movie is compressed to a vertical line. I want to get prints of so many of these...

Paperman is one of the most beautiful animated shorts I've ever seen. To make it, Disney created a new animation technology called Meander. It lets the animator create a scene in 3D, render it in 2D style, then draw on top of it with 2D techniques, which are automatically tweened. If the animator adjusts a 3D element, the 2D drawing is updated to match. If the animator adjusts a line in the 2D rendering, the 3D model is adjusted to correspond. It's pretty freaking amazing and provides a result that has the simplicity and style of 2D animation with the fluidity and mobility of 3D. EDIT: Just watched it again. Dangit, why am I getting misty?!

Heheh. I saw that in theaters when I went to see Wreck-It-Ralph. It was very beautiful.
