So um, anybody watch Luke Cage?

Ngau and I enjoyed it. I don't want to give away spoilers here, but the thing with the hoodies was brilliant. I laughed so hard.
Misty Knight was excellent. And Netflix has carried on its winning streak with complex, believable Marvel villains. And they had three of them! I don't know why the Marvel movies have such boring bad guys in comparison. Any thoughts?

I'll need to watch it. I've yet to watch any of the Netflix Marvel lineup.

I kept seeing negativity from the interwebs while I was watching it and couldn't understand because I was really enjoying it.
Not quite as much as Jessica Jones but certainly more than Daredevil.

And yeah, Misty was superb.

I agree with Steave: Better than Daredevil*, not as good as Jessica Jones. The second half of Luke Cage is much better than the first half because there's little to no tension what with him being bullet proof and all.

*Something about D'onofrio's performance kind of bothered me.

The downer ending kind of sucked though.

I liked Season 1 of Daredevil better than Season 2. I dunno, the second season felt a little unfocused to me and I guess I wasn't really into the evil ninjas. I liked the humour in Luke Cage better than Daredevil's constant angst.

Edit:
1. I spent most of Daredevil wanting to slap some sense into Matt.
2. I think Jessica Jones narrowly wins out as the best series so far.

I agree that the ending of Luke Cage was a bit of a downer. Also thought Diamondback was the weakest of the 3 villains. Too one-dimensionally psychotic.

Just finished watching Luke Cage. Loved it. Will have to go and watch Jessica Jones and Daredevil now.

Anyone looking forward to The Defenders?

If I had any criticism of Luke Cage, it's that he's a bit of a Gary Stu character. The man has no flaws. He went to prison but he was wrongly convicted. He's honest, upstanding and honourable. He cares about his community (1). He's well read. All the ladies love him. And he's nearly invincible. He's Superman, if Superman had to work two minimum wage jobs. But at least he's a well-written, believable Superman. Which is more than you can say about the latest Superman movies.

(1) The part that felt a bit weird was how he was so proud of Harlem when he wasn't even from there. Did they retcon his backstory or something? I have no idea how many versions of Luke Cage have ever existed, but teh interwebs says Original Flavour Luke Cage was originally from Harlem, and his criminal past was real, not a frame-up.

He could have been proud of Harlem because of Pops. Wanted to support it like Pops wanted to support it because Pops supported him when he needed it.
