Don't look at me, I'm too busy adding to Inspy's insurmountable lead. At least we have a tight battle for second.

At least I got a point back from insp this round to make up for all the points I've thrown in her direction in the earlier rounds.

Hmm... I'm dashing, hrm? I've actually been dreading narrowing down to one choice from all the songs whose lyrics I love.

This is Tom Waits "Alice" from the album of the same title, in which the gravel-voiced singer enters a characteristically hallucinatory reverie inspired by the life of Alice Liddel, the inspiration for Lewis Carroll's Alice books.
Tom Waits wrote:Arithmetic, Arithmetock
Turn the hands back on the clock

Anyway, as a bonus for you, here's perhaps my favorite ever set of lyrics for a song (not part of the game)

RIchard Pinney wrote:All of us are primates
Some of us were classmates
Some of us were lovers in the fall
There were periods of blondness
Periods of fondness
Periods that never came at all...

Love Tom Waits. Ruan approves of this lyric selection!

Ruan also wishes he'd noticed you guys were doing a lyric version of Balderdash in time to get in on the game. He also has no idea why he's speaking in 3rd person.

I doubt anyone would have any objection to you jumping in the game late. You'd be behind on points, but that's true of pretty much everyone except insp...

Just don't hold up the game with late entries!

In that case, I'll go ahead and jump in. Thankfully I don't know this particular Tom Waits song, so I don't know the correct lyrics in any case.

Its mirrored face, what to erase?
My life or that of the Jabberwock.

To playground dates with playground mates
Who twitterpate and jabberwock

Blue in lass, take a pass,
Break the pane of the Looking Glass.

Eat me, drink me, grow and shrink,
End up swimming in my own tears

Through the rabbit hole we drop
Hope you didn't forget your Glock.

Need to change the things I've done
How could I have known she was the one?

And remember Alice dear,
You need not fear the Jabberwock

Try 's you might, time don't stop
Queen's still lookin' for heads to chop

How does the ocean rock the boat?
How did the razor find my throat?

But where's its feet? Where's its sock?
Arithmetic, Arithmetock

You may have noticed there is an extra. One player sent in a real entry and a joke. I will award one bonus point to anyone (other than the author) who correctly identifies the joke entry AND who wrote it.

You guys got your guesses in in record time! And this round featured pointless inspiration, which is uncommon this game.

Hmmm.... that would be a good band name...

Steave wrote:Its mirrored face, what to erase?

insp wrote:To playground dates with playground mates

Ruan wrote:Blue in lass, take a pass,

Fooled CCC and StanCold

CCC wrote:Eat me, drink me, grow and shrink,
End up swimming in my own tears

Funky wrote:Through the rabbit hole we drop
Hope you didn't forget your Glock.

This was the joke entry --correctly identified by Solara and StanCold, misattributed to inspiration by CCC and Steave

Solara wrote:Need to change the things I've done
How could I have known she was the one?

Fooled Funky and Ruan

Jorodryn wrote:And remember Alice dear,
You need not fear the Jabberwock

Funky wrote:Try 's you might, time don't stop
Queen's still lookin' for heads to chop

Fooled Solara and inspiration

Tom Waits wrote:How does the ocean rock the boat?
How did the razor find my throat?

Correctly identified by Steave and Jorodryn

StanCold wrote:But where's its feet? Where's its sock?
Arithmetic, Arithmetock

So I think that's
Ruan 2
Solara 2+ 1
SC 1
Funky 2
Steave 2
Jorodryn 2

So the Totals Are:

inspiration: 16
Funky Honky: 10
Jorodryn: 9
Solara Hanover: 7
kitoba: 6
Steave: 5
Stan Cold: 2
Ruan: 2
CCC: 1

I was a little worried that more people would notice that the odd one out had no explicit Wonderland reference, but only Jorodryn and Steave picked up on that --enough to deny me any points!

CCC it's all you! Fool us all this round, and you can overtake Ruan!

and the only reason I went with it was because I thought it was least likely to be inspiration's

SH's also had no wonderland references, just figured I'd point that out.

It was funny, when I was first going through the list my heart skipped a beat when I saw the joke entry. I like the way you handled it though.
