AlternateTorg gives a small bottle of sand to CCC. "Yes, young grasshopper, a cow does have the AlternateTorg nature."

He turns to kitoba and shakes his head. "My child, a saw does not have the AT nature."

Summary
Has: serpent, eel, lizard, fox, T. rex, binturong, cow
Has not: tree, worm, frog, saw

I believe a hailstone has the Kajin nature.
I believe a perfectly still lake does not have the FreakyBoy nature.
I believe a pelican has the Steave nature.

Kajin hands AT a well used dunce cap that has his name stitched into it. "Yes, a hailstone does have the Kajin nature."

Kitoba gets a cane. "Yes, grasshopper, Kool Aid does have the FB nature."

"Both are correct observations. Oranges do in fact have the Kajin nature, while pears do not." Kajin rummages around in a nearby crate and pulls out a slightly less worn dunce cap. Also with his name stitched into it. He passes the old memento to FB for use as a token.

*Offers cane back*

Oh Great and Freaky One, I believe an object has the FB nature if it is a liquid composed at least partly of water.

The Master takes the cane, shaking his head. "No, grasshopper, I fear my lesson is obtuse. A marshland has the FB nature, but is in no way a liquid."

FB hands the cap back to Kajin. "Master, I believe something has the Kajin nature if it is spherical."

"FB gets another point. I thought that one would at least be a little difficult," Kajin says as he puts on the dunce cap. "Hold on, gimme a minute to come up with another."

CCC accepts the memory card. "And yet the paradise tree snake has the CCC nature, and it can fly."

Steave is correct. I just wanted to mention the Paradise Tree Snake because it's a really wierd snake. Well, it's more 'glide' than 'fly', but still, a flying snake is pretty impressive, don't you think?

Now I'm confused. Was he right or not? It seems you're saying he was, yet you phrased it as "And yet...".

He was right. The "And yet" was just to keep the tempo. Note that the example given does not contradict the rule that Steave stated. It's just a really weird example of that rule.

I believe that the dead sea has the FreakyBoy nature.
I believe that a dragon has the AlternateTorg nature.
I believe that an ostrich has the Steave nature.

CCC receives a small bottle of sand from the Master. "You gain insight, student. A dragon does have the AT nature."

Summary
Has: serpent, eel, lizard, fox, T. rex, binturong, cow, eagle, dragon
Has not: tree, worm, frog, saw

The Master looks upon his students. "Do none of you yet know my rule? Surely the common thread is apparent. I will confess that the worm was a difficult one to answer, but the rest should make it clear."

No, it doesn't. Every common thread that I can see is contradicted.

Number of legs? Serpent, eagle, and cow are all in the "has" column. (Not to mention, dragons can have zero, two or four legs easily, and possibly more).
Body covering (fur, scales, feathers, etc.)? All over the place.
Has teeth? But the eagle is in the "has" column, and the saw is not.
Real vs. fictional? Clearly nothing to do with it.
Colour or shape? But both the serpent and the cow have this elusive quality.
Domesticated vs. wild? You've got the cow and the T. Rex both in the "has" column, and I think I can safely say that no human ever domesticated a T. Rex. (If that's wrong, I want proof, please).
Diet? Cow and T. Rex are both in the "has" column, and what elements of diet could they have in common? Cows eat grass, and T. Rex was around before grass. Not to mention dragons, which certainly don't eat grass.
The only common thread I can find in the "has" row is that they are all alive, but then you have the frog and the worm in the "has not" column... oh, and that they all have tails, but then so does a worm...

...

...well, if I ignore the worm...

I believe that a thing has the AlternateTorg nature if it has a tail.
