As for Nenya, it was originally held by Gil-galad, but he gave it to Elrond before the Last Alliance.

Then cica 1997, it found its way onto the finger of my 7th grade English teacher.
I swear she used to disappear all the time. It was a shiny ring, precous.
Cheesiest, you're thinking of the One Ring. The Three don't make thier wearers invisible.
In 7th grade, it sure did! I know better NOW, but that was the assumption back in the day. Nenya's the one with the diamond and that's what she had.
Heck, we even confronted her about it and she just laughed and acted mysterious.
Awesome teacher.
It wasn't until 8th grade that we discovered Gandalf had 4 electrons. That one keeps us laughing to this very day.

Ok, I'll bite, why does Gandalf have 4 electrons?

Heheh. Gandalf's mark, it's a cirth [G] with four dots, one on each side.

Look here!

If it was a Lewis diagram, it'd appear to have four unpaired electrons.

The fate of Celebrimbor was not that Sauron killed him. Too simple.

Celebrimbor was slaughtered, his mutillated body nailed to a post and carried before Sauron's army as a battle standard.

*That's* what happened to Celebrimbor.

Nenya, the Ring of Water that Galadriel bore in Lórien, the ring of Adamant (old English for Diamond)

The Blue Ring, Ring of Sapphire, The Ring of Air, Vilya was borne by Elrond given to him by Gil-galad.

Narya, The Ring of Fire, The Third Ring, given to Gil-galad by Celebrimbor for safe keeping, then give to Cirdan who passed it onto Gandalf. Narya was set with a red stone, while never specifically named it was said to shine with a firey light.

All were made by Celebrimbor, who was not only killed by Sauron, but as waffle has pointed out, used as a battle flag.

Thanks for clearing that up. That's where the issue with Galadriel's ring's name came up--I did keep wanting to think it was Nenya, and I know 'nen' means water... Least I remembered the stones right; assuming Narya was a ruby. Seems likely, especially since ruby and sapphire are the same mineral, corundum, with different trace elements that provide color.

Some more trivia fun.

One of our heroes received his sword by pulling it free from where it had been embedded in a wooden beam. Who was it and which sword?

Who taught whom to suck eggs?

"For he stank!" Who is criticizing whom's hygene?

The first line of mounds was broken. Who broke it and where is he now?

What are the tokens of the House of Elendiel? What do they mean?

Melkor had some help getting the Simarals. Who helped him? How? How does this relate to the Ringbearer's Quest?

Yup! *can't help but laugh* If I can dig up an old note from 8th grade, I'll scan it in and put it up as my avatar where we signed with the cirth and numbered the dots... then followed it up with "need I say more?"

Bilbo stuck Sting into a beam to demonstrate its edge, and Frodo pulled it free.

Gollum thought he taught his grandmother. (I think this was a bit of irony on Tolkein's part, given that the old phrase "Why don't you teach your elders to suck eggs?" implies you're trying to teach someone something they're already expert at.)

"For he stank!" Who is criticizing whom's hygene?

Gandalf complaining about the amount of time he'd spent in Gollum's presence?

Referring to the burial mounds of the royal line of Rohan, one king's son--Fridwulfa?--vowed while drunk to travel the Paths of the Dead. He kept his vow and was driven mad by the ghosts and died. His remains are still in place when Aragorn leads his party through the caverns.

I only have a vague clue about the other two.

Correct. After all, our hero cannot simply be handed his magic sword.

Close, but no cigar.

Close enough.

Still open:

Bonus question:

In Peter Jackson's "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings", Bilbo is telling a story to some cute hobbit children at his birthday party. What story is he telling, and who's real life children are those?

He's telling the story of how he and Gandalf turned the trolls to stone--and the kids are Peter Jackson's. (The little girl also appear in the cavern sequences in Helm Deep, wearing a blond wig.)

Silmarils.

He was helped by Ungoliant, the great spider. Ungoliant drained the Two Trees of Valinor of their light, which gave Melkor the darkness he required to storm Fëanor's stronghold to seize the Silmarils.

Ungoliant is Shelob's mother, and Shelob's darkness nearly drew the Ringbearer's Quest to an end, but was ultimately thwarted by the Vial of Galadriel - which, incidentally, contained within it the light of Elendil, the Morning Star, which is one of the Silmarils.

What are the tokens of the House of Elendiel? What do they mean?

"That day therefore Elrond called him by his true name, and told him who he was and whose son; and he delivered to him the heirlooms of his house.
'The ring of Barahir, the token of our kinship from afar; and here also are the shards of Narsil. Whith these you may yet do great deeds; for I foretell that the span of your life shall be greater than measure of Men, unless evil befalls you or you fail at the test. The Sceptre of Annuminas [The token of royalty in the North-kingdom]I withhold, for you have yet to earn it.' "

Also is the Star of Elendil, The royal symbol of the Northern Dúnedain.
