Purely as a side note, do many people use Paintshop Pro as opposed to Photoshop? Just asking because I know next to nothing about Photoshop, but may be able to help if anyone has any problems with Paintshop.
I've been meaning to write some tutorials about lineart and colouring and shading and highlighting, so if anyone is interested I'll get off my rear and be useful for a change.

I don't know about anyone else, but I've been playing around with PSP for the past 3 years, off and on. I've been wanting to get started on computer-enhanced artwork, but I'm so old-fashioned that I stick with what I know- pencil/pen and paper.
So yeah, any PSP tuts will be appreciated at least from me.

Paths! Oh, paths are one of the greatest things I have ever encountered. I use them to ink my drawings - it results in a much neater line. And they can be used for coloring, too.

I think I can use the thread this way- I hope so, at least.
I'm fairly new to photoshop (used to use corel photopaint), and it's just got all confusing on me.
I have been using the text tool all day with no problems, but I've just loaded up a new file and suddenly it seems to have switched off anti-alias on the text (so it now looks really sharp and ugly), and also now holds the text once I've finished in a mask, not in a new layer (which is what I want). Another thing that has changed is now when I start typing text the images turns red until I finish with it.
Anybody know why this happened? Or, failing that, how I can revert back to how I have been using it (No red image, anti-aliased text, and stored in a new layer)?
EDIT: Also, I can no longer edit text by clicking on it. I have to delete and start again.

i dont use the text tool much myself, but, i believe there is a "Style" or something drop down menu (in photoshop, if thats what youre using) there should be a number of anti-aliasing settings.

*Poke* Paths? And, maybe, somebody said something about mask? That just a vocabulary word I'm not familiar with or what?

All right, I finally got a request (I don't mind a waiting period on this since I'll be PSP and Photoshop-less for the next 45 days)-
Colorizing photos or B&W pencil drawings. I had a tutorial I got from a friend a long time ago, but I have since lost it- no thank sto a laptop crashing (literally).
Any and all who help will be celebrated in 15 days at my "30 Days left" bar-b-q.

bah.
you want it too, eh? um... okay.
its just, they're such a bother, really... i mean, i'd have to actually go and figure them out again! (ack!)
so... i'll do it... and then perhaps we'll be able to progress this thread to talk about something OTHER THEN FREAKING PATHS!
