Nobody calls me chicken. Terb and Plorb, inbred simpletons. It figures.

Hmm, more stereotype-driven humor. This one might have potential, though.

I have to say, I'm disappointed.

Knowing that Deplora (frankly, I could care less about Terribus -- the character is completely one-dimensional) would lose the aristocracy today had me eager to read Saturday for the first time in who-knows-when. I was hoping that Deplora would seek ways to regain her power or redeem herself, leading to some possibly dumb plots (hooking back up with the horsemen or whatnot), but still several fun things.

"Blue" trash... bad Jerry Springer parody.. ugh. Is that all we could get out of this? What's the rest of the Dimension of Grief think, anyway? These are demons why wouldn't there be some move to take power in some fashion?

I don't claim to be able to write this stuff... but I was really hoping for something interesting out of this... and this wasn't it.

Hmm...viewing pools must be really easy to make, it being reconstructed that quickly.

This is kind of funny in and of itself, but *why* must Ian comics try so hard to be mundane? Ian should strive harder to make it so things are different than on earth -- not everything needs to have an allegory on earth. You can make it so Terb and Plorb came from some hickish family, and it'd be funny -- but make it so it's a hickish family that would occur in the DOP, not one that would occur on earth. You don't need to keep making the DOP and DOG into earth, Ian!

I'm also kind of wondering if this plot wasn't influenced a little by fans expectations that Deplora and Terribus would be stricken down from nobility. I mean....Deplora married into the Grief prince's family, right? She may not be Pain-royalty anymore, but she's Grief-royalty. If that doesn't work somehow, I'd like that to be explained.

One more comment....

Stay DOG Ian, stay DOG!!!

*shrug*

Ian's ok, but one strip a week from him is about all I care to try. I think BobTheSpirit put it really well; why do they try to be mundane? I tried reading Bruno the Bandit and couldn't get past the same lame political jokes that were at the time being slammed through every liberal media outlet in existance. I go read the comics to get *away* from that kind of stuff.

Ah well.

I'm just glad that Ian's out of Hell and hopefully won't be dealing with Satan or Sam or any of that stuff for awhile.

I agree. I like Tryka and Sweral in Ian's style... er... so long as they don't have saucers for eyes.

I also liked the steam effects in the 4th panel.

But who writes this drek for you Ian? I admit that I groaned a bit and smiled at "blue trash" but the rest? Gah. If nothing else why not poke around in some of the forum spec threads. There are TONS of good ideas there.

I always considered the Demon King to rule more than one dimension, and then delegating rulers (Lord Horribus, etc.) to rule them.
