Dom's playing the ghoul, Stan, not Warbeard.

Other points of clarification: it's night-time, and Independence isn't a port town (being one would put it in direct conflict with KC's control of the river.) They smuggle by carting goods over land to the river and ferrying goods onto boats through various means (planks, cables, tossing, wading, etc.)

Fortunately, KC patrols are common enough that chartered boats can be left unattended without being stolen (though owners do occasionally have to answer the questions of a KC patrol when this happens.)

I kinda get the feeling Scabs will be in town. =) At least that seems a logical place to find a doctor (just curious who's gonna end needing him...)

I could have you all get attacked by irate mutant river bass.

Heh, well, Mark must be one hell of a swimmer. The Missouri is not meant to swim in, we have at least a couple drownings a year out here from fools who think it's ok to do it without a flotation device.

High Strength, Endurance, and Survival means he can do it.

Neither of them realize that Lucy's Bed is a whorehouse?

Hilarious.

I'm half afraid to ask if Lucy's a ghoul...

This isn't Liberty. Most residents aren't ghouls.

Ah, sorry, I got the two backwards somehow. Was thinking Independence was the ghoul town and Liberty was the free-city. :(

Sorry, I was gone all weekend gaming and relaxin'. FB, if Doc was passing through the town, where would he be? Do you mind if I have him be a friend of Lucy's? He could treat her girls, and stay in a back, out of the way room.

Edit: What the hell, Stan. What the hell?

Up to you, Dom. Doc could work for Lucy, or stop by the clinic when he's in town, or work keeping the night-shift ghoul guards (ghouls guard the gate at night, humans guard it during the day) healthy, or whatever other excuse you want. Independence is as welcoming of ghouls as any settlement can be, though Doc's admittedly hard to get along with for long periods. They like his caps, though.

Also, I will echo Dom's "What the hell", though I'm going to roll with it for now.

I haven't read your post yet, Stan, but I'm gonna pre-emptively say "What the hell?"
