Well I bloody well see now dagnabit!

The annoying thing is that I had the right lyrics in my head when I came up with my lyrics but just zoned out when I guessed yours by mistake.

I still don't see it :sam:

I was able to correctly attribute insp and Funky's entries. And I'm proud to have fooled insp again!

Jorodryn was being tricky - his lyrics are actually lyrics from the song. Just, not the following lines.

Which almost got me, by the way - I had to think for a bit, and it was more or less a coin toss at the end.

K, I figure my post about having a bad feeling tipped you off a bit.

Anywho, I've been thinking about what song to use pretty much non-stop since we started this game, and I'm happy to say, I'm no closer to coming to a decision than I was weeks ago... sigh... I'll get something up today.

Wow, that didn't take nearly as long as I thought it would. The artist is Frank Zappa, the album is We're Only In It For The Money, the song is Mom and Dad:
Frank Zappa wrote:Mama! Mama! Someone said they made some noise
The cops have shot some girls & boys

Humorous note: I had to go through almost a dozen songs before I was able to settle on this one to be obscure enough, but not so obscure that the correct lyrics would massively stand out. Not an easy thing to do with FZ.

I was honestly hoping it would catch a few people, even the casual Gilbert and Sullivan fan. A friend of mine used to sing that song all the damn time. When CCC put it up I was singing it in my head for 3 days straight. Of course then I had to annoy everyone at work with it too.

Well now, that doesn't seem quite cricket!

I would have gotten it anyway --I recognize your sense of humor :kiki:

Hmmm... Zappa. This should be a fun round.

EDIT: Edited to add Kiki.

Yeah, that seems far more bending the rules than what I've done to poor old MC.

I was initially thinking of doing the same thing ... With the same lines.

Which is either more embaresing that I was the one caught out or the reason that a week later those lyrics jumped out at my tired brain.

I chose not to and instead only used part of it fudged around a bit for mine.

Posted your entry, huh? I've done that at least twice.

You just thought insp needed another advantage, right? :sasha:

Speaking of which --I don't want to change scoring for past rounds, but can we get a definitive from-this-point-onward ruling on decoy lines from the actual song being dashed?

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with it; if it's a song that you know, my opinion is that you could submit any two lines from the song. Of course, no looking it up; that goes without saying.

But... what if you submit the correct two lines? Would that give a score bonus of some sort?

That would be kind of self defeating though. Either you'd get 2 points for guessing the right answer (or possibly more if there's a bonus but I think more than 3 total would be unfair) or there'd be 2 identical entries and that would just be silly. Better to slightly alter them or use other lyrics from the same song says I. Besides, you can get more points from fooling people anyway.

Tricky for me, seeing as I have never listened to Zappa and don't know what his music tends to be like.

Entry is in, in any case.

Hmm ... as clever as Jorodryn's gambit was (very!), I think it'll have to stand as a one-time-only thing. All submitted lyrics must be original.

I couldn't help it... It just seemed to be the right thing to do in that round. And it was only the second song that has been picked that I knew. This round is going to be bloody hard though.
